All I get results for are haircut salons, is there something else? A Tic-Toc with only sports clips? Hair clips for guys with long hair? Latent circumcision for Jewish athletes? What? We need to know!

I have a barber that I go to, she runs her own shop, it's great.

My nephew needed a haircut and this Sports Clips place was cheaper and closer. No way to just make an appointment, you got on a wait list. It was 180 minutes. OK? And everything is sports terminology. It wasn't a wait list, it was a lineup.

We went to "Great Clips" instead. We walked in and they started on him 5 minutes later.

Q: was there digital advertising on the scissors at Sports Clips? How legit is this franchise?

It's nice, almost as cheap as Supercuts, mostly attractive women and a nice hot towel service.

What do people pay for a haircut nowadays?

Supercuts is up to something crazy like $23. Thats like $2 per minute for how long I'm there.

I'm thinking of shaving my head to avoid this nonsense.

They did, yes. And it seems the only barber at Sports Clips for kids with no wait was their stylist Rae Carruth.

Sport clips is just Supercuts with sports TVs and a hot towel on the head service. The last salon cost me $85 but she have me a hand massage (massaged my hands you dirty minds)

Yeah man I chuckled to myself when I heard a commercial for this company. Like.. wtf IS a "sports clip"? Like do they only do mullets, crewcuts, and other cuts that "dudes that play sports" like? Then I realize that apparently it's a place to get a haircut for "dudes that like sports". I am generally a dude that really doesn't give a shit about most sports so this sounds fucking stupid to me.

Y'all be paying too much for haircuts lol

The place in walking distance from me is small and sometimes has a wait.. tho never longer than about 20 minutes if that. Nothing fancy like hot towels and shit but they cut my hair the way I want it for 16$. I usually just give them a 20 since I only average about 3 hair cuts per year (I grow it out over the cold months). Usually on the TV is whatever morning or daytime crap that plays over the air. Sometimes kid stuff if there's kids in there. That's fine. People talk a lot there and I usually join in. The older hair-cutting ladies seem to like my waterpark stories and sometimes have actually got me hip to new phone apps.

2 years ago I tried going to a fancier barber because my usual place was on vacation or something. First time he cut my hair it was comical and horrible. This was the cut after winter so my dandruff build up was pretty bad. It was only recently I learned that the best treatment for my dandruff is actually a good soaking in chlorinated water! Anyway, he hits my head with the clipper and this motherfucker is bearing down HARD. I look down and SHEETS of dandruff are coming off like fish scales. Damn near shaves my head except the top. "Looks good!" I said and got out ASAP. The cost was 21$ BEFORE the tip (!?) and he barely used scissors. Luckily, I had been growing my beard out at the time so decided to shave everything off but my mustache for full comedic effect. When the Dungeons N Dragons group showed up at my house and I had thrown on some sunglasses to top it off and was a mirror image of this:

Heh.

One of my favorite haircut stories was Flack talking about getting his hair cut by an Asian lady fairly often. Then, one day it happened to be on or around Chinese New Year so he joyfully tells her after getting his hair cut; "Happy Chinese New Year!". She was NOT amused. Neither was she Chinese. ROFL

There is definitely an aspect of it being a luxury item for me in all of this. It was $40 for the longest time.

Before I met my current barber, I would never have the next haircut scheduled. Five, six, seven, eight, nine weeks would go by. I didn't like how I looked, but I also disliked the possibilities of having to arrive without an appointment at a SuperCuts, wait some amount of time and then burn an hour before getting called up. I was at a place once in Thornton that did haircuts for AHHHH twenty somethings that were not white guys, and who absolutely did not need haircuts, because their haircuts looked like they literally just got them done. Just barbers going over each hair on their head one by one. I tried to walk in there and after 25 minutes, saw people that did not have appointments get called up ahead of me and left. Hey, great - take care of your regulars. Definitely don't need to be forward thinking when it comes to getting new customers since scientists cured baldness that one time.

So having the same person do the same thing 4 or 5 weeks out is great for me. Love it. I don't have the anxiety of anyone screwing it up while the cut is going on because she cuts it the same way. So for me it's worth the money. In the winter it is tough to get over there. Where she was originally working was in downtown Denver and I would walk a couple blocks over and get it cut. But then I moved west and she started her own business and moved east, so I need to plan for an hour to get there. It should take less than that, but the people who live out that way are incapable of not smashing up their cars every single day, so it adds time.

I haven't had a haircut in 4 years. I mostly rock pony tail for the last 20 years, now I actually just cut the end of it off occasionally.

I think it's an area cost of living thing. I have read tales of Flack getting his cut nicely for like .... $10? I am trying to remember what prices out here were before the pandemic started. I feel a cut for a kid was much cheaper but I have no proof.

My cheap lady raised her prices, moved far away, and then raised her prices again. I get my hair cut at Great Clips now.

Your hair always looks great, too. Whereas I feel that if I don't follow my gal around the state, I will look like a Half-Orc. Full Orc?? We men never compliment one another, so I will now do so in this thread. THAT THICK IRISH HAIR!!! Outstanding. Take a bow! !
