Beating Oblivion while raising children should get YOU into the Strong Museum Hall of Fame!

One of the fun things about Elder Scrolls games is being told about the main storyline and then doing your thing for 1000 hours. I have forgotten a lot about Oblivion, but I knew that I wanted to be a wizard. The first city you start in does not have a Mage's Guild, so I consulted a guide and went to the next city that did. And it was right behind the city gate. ACES. I am set up to start doing Mage quests.

I got two other requests - quests for the layman - and I am wondering how much hand holding Oblivion does. I was asked to go places and find things and I am not sure if I have a quest marker on the map or if I just can't find it.

I did this quest today.

I got stuck because I talked to the broad and not her husband. I thought the gal gave me everything I needed to do the quest. But she didn't. You definitely had to make sure to talk to everyone a few times.

Then it went okay. I am playing as a woman character, so the gals that were robbing men played it like I would join their gang. Then I didn't. The difficulty that I have the game on means that I am one-shotting almost every enemy with my giant sword. I don't know that Oblivion gets better with combat if that is not the case, so I am not worried about it right now.

The quest was a little primitive. It's fine.

It is a very good-looking game.

I think your judgment of the quality of visual depicion is clouded by emotional connection to the game. I tried typing "night in full moon" in Google image search and found literally tens of thousands of beautiful images of various moonlight scenes that look far, far better. To put it bluntly, this looks like one of those '80's CGA game images or where the image is intentionally made imperfect for some reason.

If this was some Indy game put together on a shoestring or by a single person, that would be one thing. But, if I'm not mistaken, the Elder Scrolls game is part of a major franchise worth millions. I just don't see a blocky/gritty image being anywhere near what someone can call the image "very good-looking."

Even the image of the album cover in the above video is better than the example you showed.
