Apparently it doesn't taste like the old version did, and it's an energy drink now, but who cares, I ordered my 12 pack.

The vast majority of people probably prefer to get no sugar if it has reasonable taste. Although, IIRC it used to have the slogan "All the sugar and twice the caffeine."
Given the general rise in expenses and fall in the typical standard of living, the future ain't what it used to be.

How do you know that, Paul? Let's see the sources of your information. Where are you getting those statistics? Unless you're, I dunno, just making shit up and pulling it out of your ass?

It looks like sugar free energy drinks are about 40% of the market. Far from "vast majority probably", but significant. I used to buy sugar-free/zero calorie cans of Monster by the case until my wife started nagging me that they will eventually cause my heart to explode. I still buy them but now I hide them from her out in my workshop. I guess if my heart eventually explodes, she'll have the last laugh. Anyway, based on the shape and size of these cans it does seem like that's the market they're shooting for. Middle-aged guys who remember the original brand but also watch their calories.

For what it's worth I find one can of Monster gets me off and running in the morning. I also found two cans sends me into what feels like a panic attack which leads to sleepless nights of staring at the ceiling and contemplating every decision I made when I was in third grade. Two cans a day is a no dog for me.

I would rather have the sugar and caffeine. Actually no, after I got off the sodas everything is too sweet anymore. But just having a can of that on the desk would be cool

I quit soda for YEARS. Then, I cut back on drinking beer and all the Nuka-Cola advertising in Fallout got to me. I average about 2 sugar filled sodas per day (usually free at the water park) now. I dislike "Speed" of any kind not involving a motor, so I've never been a heavy caffeine user.

Yeah I'm just buying it because of the can. They could fill it with lye, I don't care.

I did not care for the taste of original Jolt cola. Although I was always happy to share one with ICJ when the opportunity arose. Y'know, like 35 years ago.

I despise energy drinks even more, so I don't think I'll be trying this.

Because the consumer market has changed, and people are expressing more interest in zero or reduced calorie options. And because I have tried low-calorie soft drinks, and they always taste like shit when compared to the stuff with sugar or HFCS. Or maybe I should say they tasted like piss, but you know what I mean. I never drink diet soda because it tastes bad.

Paul is 100% CORRECT. Most people are fucking stupid so of course they drink chemicals thinking it's healthy!

I would think primarily drinking water and having a real soda or two is much better for you than barely any water and mad "sugar-free" drinks.

Paul is correct, unless you spend ten seconds Googling it to actually find out the facts.

So Alcohol "tastes bad", Diet soda "tastes bad", you don't seem to smoke and claim never to use porn - is eating yourself to death really your only vice?

You are the only one of us who can handle it. You gotta put in like 30,000 steps a day. You are fine, you are who these things are for.

I mean, if you could get them. Which apparently, nobody can.
