How about the Jews?
I don't have any problem with Jewish people.

(Unless they think Halo II is going to be, or HAS to be, the greatest game ever. In which case I cheerfully hope for their excruciating and unfortunate ends!)

No clue. It might have something to do that he blogs with news updates sometimes.
Ice Cream Jonsey wrote:The day you say everything from Japan is better than everything from America is the day I don't know you any longer.
Hah, don't get worried. Japan major gaming made *a* good game this year, though I've got to respect them in still believing that 2-d can work (E.I. every SHMUP) oh and the Asian Freeware world puts ours to shame.
Ice Cream Jonsey wrote:Katmari Damacy is good and I'm going to bet that while the fucking WHORES at Xbox Nation give Halo II a "10" (they have too much invested not to) everyone else who isn't brainwashed is going to be all "ehh." So I'll grant you that a game where you roll a pile of shit together is better than the pile of shit that will be Halo II,
Yeah, fuck Halo II even if it is good. At best it's just going to be the "BEST SPAGHETTI YOU'VE EVER HAD". Though maybe you should eat something a little more adventurous next time.
Ice Cream Jonsey wrote:it's still just one game that happens to be Japanese, rather than case-closed evidence that they do games better or anything.
Yeah, that's the beauty a game that is good is too good for you to give a shit about it's origin. I don't give a shit where Fallout came from, just like I don't give a shit where Katamari Damacy came from. The translation to English was so seamless that I felt I lost nothing. People who imported the game though? Still trash.
Ice Cream Jonsey wrote:I found Doom III to be better than KD, for instance. (Devil Whiskey too, but they did steal gameplay from the Bard's Tale. No matter, but still.) Doesn't mean that KD isn't excellent, but let's not get ridiculous here.
Well, Doom III gave you something that no one else wanted. I mean not to be a cunt, but in really digging Doom III and not being a fucking idiot ranks you at fetishest.
Ice Cream Jonsey wrote:Plus, if Japan ever does get too good at making software, well, we have another couple of nukes to drop on them to even things out again.
KD represents a Japanese company getting back to the classic Action genre and fleeing the gameplay specific tiny metal box genres like FPS, RPG, Rhythm, or Racing.

Playing this now. Not really feeling it yet. Could be because, like all video games, I am very very bad at it. I'm just barely squeezing by the size limits on the earliest stages. I can't seem to tell, except through trial and error, what I can roll up when and I find it depressingly easy to get lost in an area where everything is too big for my current katamari.

Early indicators indicate that this is the greatest soundtrack in the history of videogames, though.

Found it anyway, thanks. It just took a few days for Google to do it's job.

Its job is, of course, furnishing me with Warez.

Good dog, Google.

And the boys at Halo STILL stole their ideas from Antennahead's Sanctity.

After they wouldn't go and write Myth 2 for them and freeze their nuts off in Chicago.

Not that Vitriola has nice things to say about The AAAAAAAAAHHH-sshole, but half of the team is still my husband.

And I maintain that TiVo stole their logo from them as well. That's why I have three Replays.

As one Jew here, I don't. I can't speak for the rest of my kind, however. At least I am a Chosen One.

Well, that was a mediocre experience.

It had some good bits, I downloaded it at 10:30-ish today, and completed it @ 10:00 PM-ish. That's not straight-play, you understand. I may have done it in -8 hours.
It seems that, unlike the original halo which was a very fun game single-player let alone anything else, this thing will absolutley shine in co-op. It feels like it's been built to adventure with a buddy around.

I am also absolutley sure this game will be much better in English; French not being my first language I was fine translating the cinematics on-the-go, but in-mission when so much was going on, it's either in English or I say "screw it". But I bet it's great, with a bunch of plot-twists etc., in English.

Funnily enough, French really suits the Elites; it makes them seem Knightly, which makes sense as they are fighting for their Holy Ones.

Now the Banshees have a bunch of Crimson Skies-esque barrel-roles and dodges, which will be a lot of fun on Live, the special moves are really going to piss people off.

Best moment: Jumping out of a Warthog at full pelt as it flew over a precipice, only to hit "X" in time to grab onto a passing banshee that was super-speeding at about 100MPH, and kick the pilot out. My, how he screamed on the way down.

In French!

No. No, it was not.

How anyone can think this is beyond me. I mean, I finished the game, but after the first hour, I was painfully aware how little fun I was having, and wishing that the next room-which-was-identical-to-the-last-nine-rooms-I-was-in would be last one.

Which it never, ever was.
Am I a hero? I really can't say. But, yes.

Just like GTA3 the whole thing gets by on the "WOAH" moments. I have no problems with that, or people liking those games. If someone likes B-movies and doesn't know why they are called B-movies, there's no reason to call them on it.

The Personal computer version sucked. There are a lot of theories as to why Halo, such a "not-bad" FPS got so much cred. The one that makes sense to me is that, for console gamers, it was their first taste of Co-op play & LAN parties. It was fun on Legendary, though; the emergent gameplay meant that, no matter how much the scenery repeated, the enemies being in different areas led to completly different battles.

After a few hours in-game, one can slip into active-camo when one feels the need; co-op play is going to be amazingly evil, slipping in and out of the shadows, assassin-style. Near the end of the game there's a "puzzle" section with about 10 Brutes in the room (about 2.5x as hard as Elites) dodging in and around their defences while slipping in and out of Active Camo was genuinley fun. Until I had to do it 10 more times. :(

Halo is the biggest pile of steaming, hyped up, utterly usless SHIT on any console.

I care not what anyone says.

"But its the best Game on the X-box" I hear you all cry.

Yes, it probably is the best game on the X-box. Not saying much for the X-box, really....

Go Get Time Splitters or "Blow shit up" Sam.

Oh, wait sorry - WOW 2 GUNS. THATS UNIQUE TO HALO 2, right?

Fuck off.
I am the lone Locust of the apocalypes, think of me when you look to the night sky...

I hear in The Matrix IV Neo has 4 guns, and one is strapped to his forehead.
