JC Dead Pool 2005?

Post by chris »

Hey all.

Since I've been made PERSONA NON GRATA over at Groucho.org, I'm wondering if the folks here on JC would be interested in a 2005 JC Dead Pool.

Basically, you pick 15 people you think will die in 2005. If they die, you get points equal to their age subtracted from 100 (so somebody 85 years old would yield 100-85=15 points). You also get a quantity bonus of 5% per death. So, if 4 people on your list die and they yielded a total of 100 points, your final score is 100 + (20% of 100), or 120 points.

The winner at the end of the year gets $10 from each player.

If you hep cats are interested, let me know. If enough people want to play, I'd be happy to organize the game.

Is that latin for banned?

Anyway, deadpools are the only thing that rotten.com actively updates anymore. http://deadpool.rotten.com/

Still, I'm in. I'll throw together my list tomorrow.
Good point Bobby!

Yes, I've been banned. Don't get me started on it.

In any case, no rush on the list....we won't start until January 1st. Do NOT post your list to the board. Last week in December, I'll ask people to send me their lists in E-mail (I will have already compiled my list and sent a copy to ICJ to prove that I didn't pilfer names off of other lists). Come January 1st, I'll post everybody's lists to see.

You weren't banned, you declined to keep posting. Besides, you're still in that pool for this year, and I'm sure they'll welcome your money for next year, too.

Uh, no.....I was pretty much told by JQW that my presence on that particular board was no longer desired (aka: persona non grata), so I left. As far as I'm concerned, my membership that their Dead Pool ended when JQW told me to get lost (and I was winning for a period of time).

But that's besides the point....next year is a whole different thing.

Maybe it's because I'm tired, but I can't let this one slide.

JQW told me that he didn't want me visiting his board, so I respected his wishes and stopped going there. I did not "decline to stop posting"....I was told to leave, and I did. Why you need to make such a big fucking deal over this is beyond me...it's not like you actually KNOW the ~20 year history between JQW and myself.

Hahaha, yes she does, I told her!!!

Anyway, you weren't officially banned by dictionary definition, as in, he didn't click on the "delete user" or "ban user." He just told you to get lost which is essentially the same thing. We are just ragging on you, Chris, it's what we do here to people rather than banning them ... in EITHER form!

I'm in favor of a dead pool!

HALF-LIFE 2 FUN FAX: If you bought Half-Life 2 at retail you have to do a five-CD install, update Steam, wait for the information on your purchased CDs to decrypts and are still forced to have CD1 in the drive when you play!

Yes, although you don't have a checking account. I will have to send you cash. But yes, you can play.

HALF-LIFE 2 FUN FAX: This syphilitic, anti-semetic clown I know could have done a better job as a tools-programmer for the installer than whoever actually did it.
