Gish is amazing. Coming from the folks who brought you Pontifex, this is no big surprise, but I think it's safe to say that Gish is, by far, the greatest game of all time wherein you play the part of a large blob of tar.
I mean, no other large blob of tar game even comes close.
Gish.

Loses almost all the points by opting for a difficult traveling on ceiling/walls ability that is mired down by too much physics, loses the rest of the points when you can't stand the 50 second repeating clip of music.
Stick to making Bridge building games guys, leave 2d side-scrolling to the Jappers.

So, you like this game?pinback wrote:Just because you suck at it, doesn't mean it's not fantastic. Christ, by that measuring stick, every game ever made blows.
EDIT: Because, honestly, I could. I just feel that somewhere along the line I'm playing shit that might as well be player made maps. The tempo of the levels is all off; one second your zooming along, and the next you have to go to complete stop and advance slowly. Dangers seem constant as landing on a corner very hard, or getting even the end of you stuck between a platform and the floor is instant death. Also, all the suspended platforms use the same rope, in the demo at least, which can be broken even if that will totally fuck you over or not. I feel I'm playing a really cool toy, I feel like it's <s>a Boy and his</s> Blob constructor kit. I'm not sure when a platform is there for my benefit or to kill me. In all the cave tileset stages I'm not sure what are the non-stick tiles and what are the breakable ones. It also seems that all platforms, blocks, trolleys, and such are going to be comprised out of moveable level tiles, which gives you little to appreciate, except the lighting.. Now that I've gotten a feel for the game I may still buy it simply to blow though every level. Akuji the Devil was much better.
