As if I needed a reminder as to why I don't go to Hamfest anymore.

I stopped going myself until the Hamsexy website rolled out and I felt the need to contribute to the insanity.

I did buy a little LED flashlight though.

You spent nine bucks getting in only to buy a mini flashlight? Wow. I used to go the computer shows they would have at the dome center and that was only five bucks (with coupon). I would feel kinda ripped off if I dint buy anything. I guess it would be cool to see some of the junk they had there (via pictures) but not spending that kind of money just to get in the gate.

Once in a while I've come across a "killer deal", or picked up a supply of doo-dads, thingamajigs and whatchamacallits to feed my geek appetite. This year I went in without a shopping list... lots of used overpriced crap. Figure I may as well spend a little extra $$$ and buy new over the internet.

Would you say on average that the admission price was worth it then?

For the photographic "why I hate hamfests" value, sure. Otherwise, it was nothing more than a glorified tax for the $3.00 flashlight I bought.
