Seeking advice...
To the omniscient* and ubiquitous* denizens of JC...
Looking for a recommendation or two for software that will allow digital pictures to be organized in a slide show. This software will then allow me to add music and captions as I see fit, ultimately burning the end result to a DVD.
Willing to sacrifice some bells & whistles for ease of use since wife wants to, uhm, help.
Thanks,
-- Mike

I scanned all my mom's photos (everything in the big cardboard box!) then went thru them with Intervideo something or other and made up slideshows of the places she went and put music to them. Instant Christmas gift! (took me a shitload of hours to figger out what the program wanted and another shitload to get the hang of using it)
The end result was really great. Backed up all the photos on the DVD for me too, in a separate folder so they won't get lost. Some kind of slideshow program.IF I get really excited I'll dig up the name for you, if you want

Exactly! And I really get frustrated when I run out of staplers! (or pigeons, for that matter...)Vitriola wrote:Yeah, Knuckles, this guy just looks for a new name at the end of the thread and when he sees one, hopes somebody had a good answer to his question. When you post shit like that, he gets all frustrated and throws his stapler through the window at the pigeons.
Thanks Vitriola.

You know, I would like this functionality in something as well. I haven't read the thread, but did you get a good answer for your question?Sousa wrote:To the omniscient* and ubiquitous* denizens of JC...

Also, confidential to whoever it is who keeps writing e-mails to Knuckles the Clown through the "send an e-mail" function on this BBS: it's not working. Knuckles posted a fake Yahoo e-mail address to register with. Meanwhile there are 30 bounce messages directed back to the JC admin account which I use to troll 49er fans and butch dyke lesbians. :(

the last group complained, quite tellingly They said, "Why don't you have a spoon that just says 'Earth?' It would save time

Yeah, thanks to Aardvark, Intervideo does the trick. It's lightweight, yet flexible enough to mix pictures/transitions/music nicely.Ice Cream Jonsey wrote:You know, I would like this functionality in something as well. I haven't read the thread, but did you get a good answer for your question?
A couple of observations:
· You're up and running in 60 seconds
· Pictures should already be refined
· Transition options are numerous
· Music timeline management a bit clunky
· Burning to DVD is a snap
Butch dyke lesbian? Didn't he QB the 49ers for a few years?
