My story about Kingpin

Post by Worm »

I had a 56k modem. I heard about Kingpin. The demo was 125 megabytes exactly I believe. I slept under my computer desk waiting for it. It was beautiful. I've had violence before, even on specific body parts in SiN. I've had the best FPS in the world before, Halflife. This was the first time I had dirty words. Dirty words were amazing to me. My grandmother used 'oh sugary' the way you'd use 'motherfucking cuntlicker'. I would curse now and then, I was scolded or not. It depended. Fuck, shit, and damn were all I ever had. Douche was just off limits, and motherfucker was like a difficult Mortal Kombat finishing move. I'd seen it but never used it. This game, just totally blew my mind.

I bought Kingpin with the help of my mother. The retarded EB clerk tried to talk her out of it(and Soldier of Fortune later). I installed it on my computer and played it with all the curse words through my speaker. My mom just had no clue as to why I couldn't do the clean install. It was beyond her. I knew it wouldn't be the same, also, it made me feel like a fag.

I was fourteen at the time. My friend Matt Space borrowed it. His parents were very against cursing. I met him when I was cursing and he reasoned that it meant my mother rose me badly. I called him a fucker, we made up eventually. So I lent him my disc. I'm not sure if he lied and said that his father said it was okay or if I didn't care at all. His father was FURIOUS. The sprites and sprites of blood in Blood was nothing like the word "Motherfucker". My mom mad me return it or do the clean install, I cried, and returned it. Later when I was sixteen I downloaded it as warez and played it all the way to the end. Later my mom bought me Fallout 2 when I heard about it in my friends issues of PCXL, both of which were a million times worse than Kingpin.

Kingpin is a great game and it's going to be our next online game. Jonesy is researching ground breaking Warez methods for us all to have Kingpin.

This is great. I'm getting shat upon for not going out and mailing copies of a game all across the world when it's a struggle for me to currently use the toilet. I don't remember agreeing to any of this. I've got two ND packages I need to send out and haven't yet and they have PAID me for it. Good going on Underdog. She's saving cripples like me a lot of toil.

Wait, what the fuck? You were going to burn copies and send them out to all your budz rather than using the program to make an .ISO and host it up on JC or make a Torrent(not hard)? If I had any idea you were adamant on using stupid shit like phsyical storage mediums and the U.S. Post Service I would have just told you to forget about it.

It only recently came up on HOTU, which is weird and welcome.

I can't host a 600MB ISO on Jolt Country. I only have 600MB of storage space.

Hey, I wonder why I wrote "or make a torrent" there?

The main said it's a struggle for him to use the toilet. He's all stopped up because of the narcotics. He cannot "make a torrent."

Sheesh, Worm, don't you know anything about drugs?

The ONLY thing I have going for me right now is that it's easy for me to use the Internet. Slowing that down to distribute a game that the bunch of you could probably get off eBay in less time than it would take for the torrent to finish was something I thought would be just presumed. Like you'd just *know* it.

Plus, I'm all backed up. Percocet should come with a handful of pipe cleaners.

Boom.

He's constipated. Quit taunting him. And if he does run torrents in his sleep, then that's more and disgusting work for his zombie nurse, and none of us want that for her, do we now?

The version on HOTU is a pain in the ass.

Once you unace it
http://www.autoimager.com/download.asp
Use that to convert the JPEGs to TGAs rather than the bundled shit.
Then removed any reference to the dejpeg.bat and alchemy from setup.bat and run that.

Granted, I never played past the first "quest," but here's why I didn't think it was worth it:

- I didn't think the game was funny enough to make good use of the swearing and cynicism.

- I didn't like the positive/negative button thing for character interaction.

- I didn't like the Fallout 'wander around getting your ass killed so you can figure out which areas are safe to go to at this point' type of thing (not that Fallout started that but it's a good example in my mind for that).

- The plot just didn't seem all that entertaining.

Mainly because negative reactions don't do anything!

Once you get that stupid Rate of Fire and Magnum mod the rest of the game plays like a regular FPS.

So,no one wants to play this online huh?
