History's Worst Software Bugs

Post by Ice Cream Jonsey »

This is on Wired.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that they manage to drag a list of 10 bugs out to --=>5<=-- pages.

Go ahead and guess, post, and see how you did!

I've had it with you and your five-word posts as of late. Do you want to fight? I would love to fight you right now... you have no idea.

You've CHASED AWAY everyone who has ever posted here and had different opinions about "stuff" than you... and now you're forcibly turning this place into a content-free shithole because that's your ultimate design for earth.

So much potential. You could be writing computer games, running entertaining forums, acting, playing music... so good at so much and LOOK AT THIS!

Well, don't let me stop another crappy, five-word post.

Also, you might want to think about retiring this one, along with the dearly departed lye-drinking thing. They were fine in their day, but this is 2005.

Fair enough, I am nothing if not adaptable. I appreciate knowing when a catch-phrase has run its course. Truth to tell, I wholly expected the "I would love to fight you right now" to be retired when someone finally took me up on the offer. Luckily for me -- and my face! -- I only really pull it out safely behind the clickety-clack of an Internet-equipped PC.

That and the fact that everyone I would love to fight has a yellow streak the width and length of the fucking Autobahn.

Lye has been retired as well. It's never going to get any better than when I used it at work last month. We have puzzles and riddles posted for daily consumption, and one of the ones recently was a rhyme whose clue was "something you drink." Guess what, the rhyme scheme was going along the lines of "aye."

Quickly pulling lye o... OK, it occurs to me that you had to be there for this to work at all. Goodbye, "You could drink lye." Fare thee well. We may never know your like again.

The problem stems from the fact that you just can't ASSIGN fun catchphrases. They have to develop on their own. I don't have any right now and I feel naked. Thanks a bunch you fucking twizzler (see? That sucks).
