OpenOffice gurus HELP PLEASE

Post by Ice Cream Jonsey »

Seriously, how the fuck do you turn off the inane "auto word complete" function in the word processor? Mother of GOD this is why I hate free software.

"But isn't Word worse?"

Yes! And that's why I hate pay software as well.

I used the word "button" in FALLACY OF DAWN: THE BOOK on, let's say, page 10. I later go to use the word "but" on page 12. It presumes I want to have the word "button" there and fills it in for me. Who the fuck writes like that?

Nothing has helped in turning it off. I really want to love OpenOffice. Why won't it let me?

You, uh, don't hit "return", and it doesn't actually change the word, I think.

How about,

Tools->AutoCorrect/AutoFormat...->Word Completion

And turn off "enable word completion" ?

This is still the most annoying thing about OpenOffice.

But thanks again, Brucie!
