K. two weeks later to me being forty.

Drink of the weekend: The chocolate martini.

I really really hate to admit this but I'm downing them in fucking DISNEY martini glasses. Present from relative visiting Fla. in last summer. might post pix of drinking vessels if I can find them. whish I could smash them in fireplace like at that Spider Robinson bar.

N-E-Way..think of someone hitting you over the head with a super huge bar of the finest chocolate and at the same time that mexican aztec (cacahuaquchtl dude hits you in the throat with a flamethrower..delicious!

There should be no shock about drinking out of a Disney glass; I myself did some drinking on our recent visit, and on one late-night bus ride from "Downtown Disney", a guy across from me barfed on himself a little bit after imbibing too much grog.

Drinking definitely can and does happen!

The shocking part is that I have some kind of inner distaste for all things Disney. The martini glasses were a gift. And you just can't drink a martini out of a Daffy Duck Burger King glass.
It's the whole artificial plastic world thing the mouse empire has going, it really bugs me.

(And then Vark announces that he is going to Lion King at the Aud.)

It's not by choice, I tell you! I said: "Honey the tickets are expensive and I don't really want to go. Why don't you go with the theater kids from AQ and I'll stay home with my 12 pack."

Alas, I'm going. My smooth talking didn't work. Balls!

Happy birthday, buddy. And many more! Let me know if there's something we can do to make this birthday even happier. If you like we can all wish you a happy 35th.

Happy birthday, 'vaark!

Only somewhat related, a letter to their website I wrote years ago made it into "Weird Wisconsin."

Thank you, everyone. I really appreciate it.

Weird NY is one of the coolest books I have gotten in a long time. it's basicly like it says, weird stuff in New York state.
From the White Lady to the Naked Cowboy to the Fox sisters to the Secret Goverment Installation in Montauk to the evil place called Tweed in LI. Some is cool, some are downright creepy. And there really are alligators in the sewers of Manhattan. And sea monsters in lake Champlain and Seneca and Cayuga lakes. And a couple bigfoot
sightings, one on Staten Island, even. Did I mention the elephant they publicly electrocuted in Coney island?

Actually, it seems they've taken it off the website and I don't own my own copy of the book, unfortunately. I'll keep my eyes open for my original e-mail to them, though.
