CGG Is A Mensch!
There I was, last week, talking about how Far Cry was better than HL2, and bemoaning the fact that I no longer had my copy of it now that I have a computer that can actually run it decent...
And BAM, what shows up in my mail but CGG's very own copy of it, addressed to Ben Pinback Parrish!
CGG is a mensch! Thank you, CGG!

Am I a hero? I really can't say. But, yes.

Oy gevalt! Have all the kikes been run off this BBS, or what?Vitriola wrote:Wumpscut does a song saying 'Ubermensch'. I think it's similar to 'prole', or 'the people', but correct me if I'm wrong.
"Mensch" literally just means "man"; "ubermensch" is Nietzsche-speak for "superman" and is often used with Naziesque connotations of blonde Aryan gods.
However, in Yiddish, "mensch" means something like "good guy." A "real mensch" is the sort of guy who did things that other people would say, back in the day, "that's mighty white of ya." A mensch is a guy who'll lend you his car, or help you move.

P.S. Not a yid.

Would a mensch search the entire city of Atlanta for the car that damaged his (unseen) and then take a golf club to that car when said mensch deduces that he found the offending automobile?bruce wrote:However, in Yiddish, "mensch" means something like "good guy." I say yes, others no. Regardless, this story needs to completely come out and enter the Jolt Country Lexicon because it's the GREATEST STORY NEVER TOLD. I myself only know fragments.

1. Strangely, Far Cry doesn't look any better on my new system, even at the highest levels. I think my video card blows.
2. I said FC was better than HL2, but at that point I hadn't played FC in a couple years. Having reacquainted myself with the game, I want to amend that statement:
FC is WAY better than HL2 in nearly every aspect except for voice acting. Way better. "But we had the buggy you could drive!" FC did it first and better. "But we had the river level where you drove a boat!" FC first and better. "But the physics system!" FC first and, while not as elaborate or as part of the game, functional.
The combat system in FC is so far superior that it barely warrants mentioning.
In summation, FC rules, HL2 (while still being a fine game) drools.
