Thanksgiving
It's a non religious holiday! Who woulda thunk...
Like new years and ground hog day. It's a day to put aside all the normal worries and concentrate on the huge guilt trip that christmas commercials thow down on us as we watch football while glazed over from the turkey and beer.
If we had to make it some kind of religious holiday I suggest a wrathful god of commerce hulking in teh shadows of the parade balloons. There's more like this but I have to go play Mafia now. And you weren't listening anyway.

Well said, I drink to that!
In fact, isn't Thanksgiving a day that was originally celebrated by those seeking refuge from religious prosecution?
The world is a big dairy and I am the man to milk it!

What a perfect reflection of American society that we need a day circled for us on the calendar to be glad we aren't starving in Africa like half the fucking world and to not bitch about how horrible our lives aren't.

I feel bad for the bunch of you that have to go to the home of distant relatives and be forced to watch football because dinner is not yet ready. God, that's gotta suck. Wearing clothes all starchy and realizing that you've got two things in common with your extended family: JACK AND SHIT.

I'm thankful that I'm not blind and living in Alaska!Lysander wrote:What a perfect reflection of American society that we need a day circled for us on the calendar to be glad we aren't starving in Africa like half the fucking world and to not bitch about how horrible our lives aren't.
the last group complained, quite tellingly They said, "Why don't you have a spoon that just says 'Earth?' It would save time
I fed all the turtles, snakes, iguanas, tortoises, and lizards in the shelter waaaay more than they normally should have been fed. The I came home and fed myself and my loved one waaay more than an average African family would eat in a year, than I drank the wine of 5 Roman bathtubs. Happy Thanksgiving!

My aunt and uncle actually sent us pictures of them getting together with my mom, dad and brother, which was awesome. I was kidding before. My family has never been large enough to warrant any uncomfortable scenarios. My aunt also made some pumpkin bread, which I happily consumed during dinner. The better the meal she makes the more Dayna tells people it's bad, so I suspect that she has gone out and registered the domain name http://thanksgivingkilledeveryoneicaredabout.us. It was THAT good!Bugs wrote:We basted our turkey in white wine, made the grazy with red, and between the 6 of us, drank enough to make JQW shit a teetotaling brick. No pain in the ass family, just family we wanted to have over plus a few friends. A good day.
