I had a dream

Post by bruce »

I gave an impromptu presentation at some sort of geeky conference about, of all things, the Arcadia/Starpath Supercharger.

The terrifying thing was that I checked my facts this morning on Wikipedia, and I got almost everything right in the dream. The Supercharger *did* give you 6K of RAM, and that, as compared to the 128 bytes of the 2600, gave you a lot of freedom to do more complex gameplay; I talked about how Commie Mutants was basically Galaxians, about how the Supercharger Frogger was the most faithful of the 1st-gen Frogger clones. I talked about the Arcadia->Starpath name change. The only thing that was wrong was that there were way too many chips in the cartridge I opened to display the internal guts of. Which is odd, because I actually do know what the inside of a Supercharger looks like.

ROMEY,

Bruce's dream was awesome.

Sincerely,

That's the wrong video, by the way.

That's odd. My intent is to not allow guest posting in only the politics and cars base. If you are going to savage someone's political views, then I feel you should 1) take the time to register 2) go through the inconvenience of registering and 3) be a man about it.

The same thing goes for savaging someone's car.

But this base? I want to be friendly to retro gamers! This won't do.

How many chips does it take to get to the center of a supercharger?

The world may never know.
