After pinning down my constant crashing problems to the fact that .net doesn't clean up old versions of itself and that the Nforce IDE drivers are garbage! I managed to get back into Oblivion. With the two new missions that I paid for!

The Thieves Den!
I lost my first few screenshots of this mod. Basically you get a <s>note slipped into your back pack</s> a magic quest update that tells you to head down to a cave and fuck shit up. You run into a bunch of way-too-tough skeletons who have some of the few non-daedric non-enchanted weapons that are good in the game. After you clear out the skeletons a lady on a boat where you might have previously slaughtered the crew will sell you shit!
Image
Once you fully update you get a message that you've done so, and you get a message that a pirate joined!
Image

You can buy thief spells and equipment or order your crew to plunder, and they get right to it! I haven't seen if I can follow them and watch them plunder. Stay tuned for the Mehrunes' Razor quest where I set off on a quest to kill all the creepy children that the LIFE mod puts into the game.
Good point Bobby!

The woman there isn't a "master thief" is she? She looks like she should be selling food seasoning and rupees down at the ethnic grocer across the street from the Korean liquor emporium.

She is someone who can predict the market so perfectly, that she's hiring out pirate crews and selling ship cabin upgrades.

My video card (I guess) is overheating. I assume this because I get a hard crash after awhile playing. Once I wipe out the heatsink I'll throw some more shit up here.

Some asshole convinced me to look at my card for acid scarring to see if there is a part that blew out. Though I'm going to just wrap up with the last of what I have.

Mehrunes' Razor
This one costs money, it's less that the queer energy drinks you maggots pick up.

Image
It's all gone man.

You get another another mysterious quest update telling you to go on a dungeon crawl for a dagger.

Image
When I roll everyone abandons their knapsacks. They made a pretty simplistic password thing here. It's nice to see some effort, but Beth just should have made a physics snowboarding mini-game for gaining entrance.

Image
Don't get excited, you can't pick up that spear, and if you could it would only be blunt or slashing.

Image
This little bastard ran like hell when I found him, only to come back at me with a claymore.

Image
These slaves all feveriously defend their masters unlike the fantasy slaves you met in Morrowind.

Image
I'd pick all these up and dump them in my house basement, but they're not children's bones.

Image
Vampires and Dunmer tougher than the ones you've been slaughtering.

Image
Even from the little purple glow I could tell it was two groups fighting it out. Neat! I'll just go in and pick on one side while being ignored.

Image
oops!

I changed my future strategies and stand out of every battle and then sneak in. This is around where it got difficulty enought to make me forget the Print Screen key. Eventually I claim my prize (how is probably the only really entertaining thing about the entire mod, so I won't spoil it) and here it is.

Image
I assume that it upgrades, but it's a proc(it only goes off some of the time) on a dagger that at full charge has about 40 shots. So you're constantly recharging, and you probably won't ever know if it does upgrade.

It's a half decent dungeon crawl with some guidiance to it. Even though one of the Dunmer (Negro Elves) called my Wood Elf (Aryan Elf) a traitor to his own people, which confused the hell out of me. It's fun, but the dagger isn't half as good as all the lore in the game makes it out to be. It seems like there are some player made quests that are taking off, but I don't know if I want to play them until some laughable voice actors are conscripted off the Elder Scrolls forums.

Other than that.

Pirate pants are hot.

Oblivion is same as it ever was.

PS: All the kids in the LIFE mod are immortal and can only be knocked unconscious, but it was programmed by a german, so what can you expect? It's a good mod that adds lots to the game, but the kids are creepy.

Once more into the breach.

Well, here we are friends. They released a new mod for 10 bucks, which is the exclusive content they said the PS3 was getting.

Even after going into safe mode, I had a long journey ahead of me. More to come soon.

Due to a HDR bug that caused everything to go black in game at random intervals I sort of got distracted. Recently I picked up Shivering Isles, still have some screen shots of Knights of the Nine and I'll compile them in some sort of fashion. The real shame is that I need to batch convert the things out of bitmap.

I don't know if it's worse that they think it's funny that they hide the right Daedric Pauldron in Morrowind, or that I'm still sore about it.

Image
Prior to that you get to see this monstrosity send a party of adventurers into rag-doll-hell. The game has loads of interesting little situations like that, combat, fun quests, and all very fitting.

Throughout your entire Elder Scrolls career you've been dually the top of the mage's guild, fighter's guild, and dark brotherhood. You may have lifted limestone cutlery to buy yourself a new sword from a cat person. Thanks to Oblivion you've probably trashed a few houses or violated a few high elves. The plane of madness suits the way this game has historically been played. It makes perfect sense.

HahahahAHAHahahaha!

Nice to see the dumb bitch from Vampire get work, though.

So is that your character, or someone in a "mod"?

And yes, I know I need to "front page" this to JC proper. I know this very much.

Honestly, I carefully sculpted her face trying to make an archetype vampire barbie slut, and I ended up with Jeanette. Frightening! The hair is a mod, I got the beauty faces, and a bodies mod to give her a pair of honkers.

After realizing that I actually made her, I couldn't continue, and went with a Breton who's less absurd looking. This play through also is utilizing the Oblivion Mod Manager. This basically takes a 7z file with the root mod (the esp, the mesh folders, etc) and unpacks it, and deletes it when you don't want it anymore. So you don't have a giant Oblivion folder.

EDIT: I'm trying decapitation mods, and the guys who program them honestly just don't want you to be able to utilize the skill whatsoever. The one mod gives you a chance when you half the enemy's health that is super easy to miss (rather than just making it a finishing hit, like anyone with a brain would). The Oblivion Mod Manger is really great because after packing up these shitty mods in 7z I can move them right now and then wait for someone with a brain to add gore.
-after you have reduced the enemy´s health to half from what it first was, a chance is calculated, and a window for a critical hit may open

-it´s possible that your next ROTATING POWERATTACK can decapitate the enemy or cut him in half

-there is no message to you about this, so IT`S RECOMMENDED TO JUST PLAY NORMALLY, and let it happen if it happens

-Every time the enemy´s health reaches milestone like 1/2 health, 1/4 health etc, a new chance is calculated, incase it hasn´t come true yet

-when you DO get lucky, the time slows down in your eyes DURING the rotation (for 2s or so), and you hear your heart pumping

-this is the moment to make a desicion: aim head (really aim high) or aim waist (not chest).

-if your hit connects, your aiming decides whether you cut him in half or decapitate him

-if you miss your chance, you wont get another one against that enemy
I mean really. I can recognize this guy wanting it to be rare, but letting me so often fuck it up? I had the critical chance on 100% and would wiff the things constantly. I don't see why he couldn't just make this a kind of fatality move. I want gore, not some shitty insta-kill mechanic.
