I went ahead and got Galactic Civilizations 2. I've got whole bunches of free time these days (not really, I just work slowly getting CZK done) so I thought, "when else am I going to have time to get into a 4x space game?"
That time is now! It is downloading at home, presently.

GalCiv2!
the dark and gritty...Ice Cream Jonsey!
My initial impression is that the game has nice music and nice graphics. I was able to figure out how to make a "colony" ship. I have two habitable worlds in my solar system!
I am playing not as the terrans, because that's a pretty stock name for humans! I am the Altarians or something. I gave them a "bump" in luck!
So far I would rate the game as entertaining! But because it took a while to directly download it, I am going to go to bed rather than play until four in the morning.

All the moons are round. I'd like to see smaller moons that don't quite have the internal gravity to make themselves round in the next version of the game.
(I'd also like the ability to hover over a planet and/or a moon and see a unique paragraph about the world in question.)
