That is not true! They are very expensive. I saw some starting at 400 pounds (I was not inclined to get one, because, seriously, where would I wear it?) and was told that such a price is cheap for a kilt.

Also, a news story making the rounds while I was in Scotland was that stores that rent kilts were trying to force people to wear underwear while renting them because of all the extra cleaning they had to do, upon return.

The natives seemed to think, "too bad" and that it was a price of business. Nobody is gonna start wearing underwear under their kilts.
