I would be going mental over a working Quantum, which they have there. Color vector graphics AND a trackball? Friends, it is combinations like that which make the very fabric of reality worth continuing, and I don't just mean on a "quantum" level!!!!!!!!

Oh my lord, I went today, and it was PHENOMENAL.

Sooo much great stuff, I could have played all day if I didn't run out of money. I am going again and coming PREPARED this time.

Believe it or not, today was the first time I've ever played a real Crystal Castles.
My favorite overall game though was Marble Madness just because I used to crack out on it on the C64 and this is another one I'd never played in the arcade or with a trackball. Now I consider all that time on the C64 version wasted ;) Just way better, people were looking at me weird because I was getting so into it and making "sudden movements'... MM was also definitely the loudest game there. That thing was turned up WAYYYY too high. I was loving it though.

Discs of Tron was there but broken. Regular Tron was up and running.
They had this REALLLY old racing game with a full steering wheel and shifter, Night Racer I think? Night Driver? It had no car graphics, or anything on the screen except for the square dots representing the track. HAH

Rocked the hell out of Robotron, wasted a quarter on Mario Bros that was just an NES in a box. Daytona USA was suspiciously missing but I definitely put some time in to Super GT, taught this 12 year old punk how to shift. He said there was no way I could beat him with a manual and bet me 4 tokens. I used those to beat him 2 more times until he finally let me show him how to shift (not that hard, shift before your tach turns red) I guess I shouldn't be bragging about playing a driving game better than a kid who has never driven a real car

Ummm yeah. What really surprised me was the GAGGLE of parents/grandparents/ just generally lame people just SITTING there waiting for their kids to finish playing. I mean what the FAHELL?!?! Sooo much goodness, seriously everyone could find SOMETHING they liked, some form of entertainment, yet these people preferred staring at the walls and trying to avoid eye contact with the other losers doing the exact same thing.

THAT is what's wrong with this world!!

(Got 3 - count em- compliments on my atari t-shirt. Made my day, really. there were some GAMERS in the house)

Haha, exactly - the best part is that, in an attempt to slow down the wear of the first trackball, the programmers allowed you to use EITHER trackball. Meaning you can spin in one direction on the first and then quickly change direction using the second trackball.

I don't think they mentioned it on the attract screen (can't recall) and nobody would assume both trackballs worked at all times, so I am not sure how much wear and tear it saved.

Great fuckin' game.

Unfortunately, I am driving down to Salamanca today to take my oldest daughter to a week of summer camp! Camp Li-Lo-Li.. awesome place. I went, my brother and sister did, my dad went when he was a kid, my uncle Rick, Uncle Gary<RIP>, Aunt Nancy, etc.
It was part of growing up for all of us and now it'll be part of growing up for Noel.
D`aawwww how cute.

I'm sure you'll want to go back to the arcade exhibit after they pull you away from the machines tonight clawing and screaming when the museum closes. Let me know when you want to go again, we'll show those 2 player games who's boss.

No, nothing like that, I was posting a subplot supposition that hitchhiking is not as bad as riding a city bus.

We just got back from a week on Keuka lake and all the wineries that are infesting the area. Tomorrow (Tuesday) is a nothing day so I will make a passionate attempt to actually GO to the museum instead of procrastinating and procrastinating.
