Why Doesn't TDR Ever Get His Email: The Thread

Post by pinback »

Hey, we've all done it... send TDR an email to explain why whatever he just did on the BBS was wrong. But he never gets the emails! So in this thread, we'll discuss why not!

TDR: Why not?
Am I a hero? I really can't say. But, yes.

I have no idea, I routinely receive upwards of 40-50 emails a day, 7 days a week. Do this. Send me one, then note it here, and let's see what happens. I did get the two messages you sent me about your friend who offed himself and his two rugrats.

You sent me an email at 3PM Monday, Then one at 1:13 this afternoon. Monday I was very busy and didn't get to my email, I guess. I do try but I don't always check my e-mail daily.

Most of my mail is pro-forma mailing lists I'm interested in (like how to draw people), or are advertisements from companies I do like to get their ads, but when I'm broke I just delete them, and occasionally a personal message. The latter is about once or twice a month, so in most cases I don't expect anything important so I might not check my mail every day, or I might check it once, early in the morning.

I do check here every day, it it's important, send me a PM here. If it's critical, call 240-345-6675 and if I am in range I'll answer the phone, and in any case I will check voice mail if I didn't get to the phone.

What if we wanted to send you a letter or go all Adam on you? Is this your correct address?

Are we doing that already? Is that appropriate, to go there already? Is that what we're doing here?

I guess we're doing that now! The Internet has spoken, and it's said it's OK to make references like that now.

Anyway, I don't understand this thread. Like Rockstar when they were yelling at the bosses of game reviewers, I'm not clear on what the story is here. Tdarcos, you're using gmail, right? Why is gmail not working correctly for you?

It's true, I've spoken to at least one mother involved and believe that to "go all Adam" is to commit a horrible, sociopathic and unforgivable act.

That's my old address before I ended up in the homeless shelter.

Actually i have updated my current address. If you check either the state of Maryland or the Commonwealth of Virginia, both of them have the correct address. Further, either looking up the whois for Viridian-Development.com or paul-robinson.us would give my current address.

Viridian Development Corporation
6706 U.S. Route 1
University Park, MD 20782-1109

The true name of the above street is Baltimore Avenue, but I use U.S. Route 1 for spammers and such who mine online databases, so I know if someone uses Route 1 instead of Baltimore Ave they're trolling databases instead of someone who knows me personally.

Technically the phone isn't landline although I use it as such, it's actually from Magic Jack which is actually VOIP.

No, I use Yahoo! Mail, GMail has a techncial flaw with domain forwarding addresses.

I get mail sent to me at @paul-robinson.us and it is forwarded to my Yahoo mailbox. But if someone at Gmail sends a message to a forwarding domain where it forwards to a Gmail mailbox, Gmail silently loses the message.

Just now that you mentioned it, the system apparently does not advise someone that they have a PM pending, you have to know enough to look for it.

Also, are you in a shelter these days? Or do you have an address that can take, say, pizza delivery?

Just give in to the force and use Gmail for your main email. It's unlimited and fuck if it's not cool to use gmail.

The address I gave above is my home address, and I have ordered pizza delivered. The shelter was located at

Prince George's House
603 Addison Road S
Capitol Heights, MD 20782

And it can receive pizza deliveries, some of the other inmates did that on occasion. It's basically 3 mobile homes stitched together. A common area and two dormitories.

I've used Yahoo! for more than six years, I see no reason to change. Yahoo mail is also unlimited. I have (had) a Gmail account, but discovering that Gmail could lose mail meant I am staying the fuck away from Gmail!
