Comments about Sun Drop soda

Post by Tdarcos »

I tried a 20 oz. bottle of Sun Drop, advertised as a "citrus soda."

It's not bad, it kind of reminds me of a slightly tart version of Sprite or 7up. I was thinking, from the packaging, that it was intended to be more of a competitor to Mountain Dew or perhaps Mello Yellow, which is Coke's version of Mountain Dew.

Then I looked at who the manufacturer is. Dr. Pepper-7Up company of Plano, Texas. Which is kind of strange, I would have perhaps advertised it as a 7-Up Citrus as opposed to a whole new brand. I suspect that they bought this brand from some small regional bottler as opposed to a new product they brought out themselves. I don't see it as being different enough by itself to be much of anything except just another lemon-lime soda of the 7up/Sprite class but a bit less sweet. (I can't even remember if Pepsi has a product similar to 7up.)

It's okay but for this sort of soft drink I prefer Mountain Dew.

I believe Sun Drop is more analogous to Squirt than to either Mountain Dew or 7-Up. Do you have thoughts on Squirt?
Am I a hero? I really can't say. But, yes.

If I remember, Squirt is considerably more tart than Sun Drop. It's different and has a much stronger "bite" than Sun Drop. Squirt may be helped in that tartness mission by one of its main ingredients, glycerol ester of wood rosin.

This forum indicates it's also relevant to cooking (and by implication, food.) Why do you have a forum which indicates it's relevant to cooking/food, then complain that people posted items about one of the entries relevant to this forum?

You probably should have video games as a dedicated forum and leave a forum with the name "Kitchen" for the food items.

I'll even give you the name for the new forum. "Insert 25c for next player"

Droll, droll, droll, Commander. When was the last time YOU played a coin-operated video game? They're more like 50c or $1 per game nowadays.

Mr. Jonsey, sir, ignore this rancid troll and name it "Insert Coins for next player."

Don't listen to him, Jonsey! He's just a figment of my imagination that's gotten loose!

Use my suggestion, "Insert 25c for Next Player".

Oh really, commander? Of the two names, "Tansin Arogan Darcos" and "Paul William Robinson," which of these appears on our birth certificate? Which of us is the real figment of our imagination?

Is this really happening, or did I end up eating one of those poison cantaloupes?

I think we need an intervention here, Paul's talking to himself again. Or is it that Tdarcos is talking to himself again?

Also, Paul's losing his really good English skills, he should have said "Commander" not "commander" because it's a title and thus a proper noun.

Is that better than a poison mushroom? (I've heard some people find 'shrooms to be very interersting.)
