In opposition to SOPA and PIPA I have put a blackout page up on my site at paul-robinson.us which has a click-through at the bottom to actually continue on to my site, where I discuss the issue.
This sort of draconian copyright legislation is ridiculous and unnecessary and I have to go along with opposing it publicly as well. I posted a reference to the article I added to my site two years ago, The Last Words of Lasantha Wikrematunge" written by an editor in Sri Lanka who was murdered because of his opposition to government policies, who explained, in a prescient article he wrote predicting his own murder, quoting Martin Niemuller, from his famous poem, "First they came for the Jews / and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew," that even if it doesn't directly have an effect upon us, we need to oppose this sort of thing.
If you want to do something, go to my site and get the link to copy the page or go to the original page http://sopastrike.com, and if you run a website, consider putting it up.
Thank you.

"If I did it." - O.J. SimpsonDo you see why we would think that was obnoxious?
If I did it, that was the point, it was intended to be shocking, and expository for the purpose of bringing attention to something horribly atrocious that should not have happened. And the incident would not be repeated. That is, if I did it, and again, I have not said that I have, I have simply pleaded no contest.

Actually, my Internet has been out for six days, it took that long to get a guy out here to replace the broken/defective cable modem. I got back in service about 12:20 EST this afternoon. I've spent the time responding to the most critical e-mails, scanning and e-mailing back a document with my signature, and processing 300 e-mails in my mailbox.

Why didn't you just take the modem to one of our offices and . . . oh, nevermind.Tdarcos wrote:Actually, my Internet has been out for six days, it took that long to get a guy out here to replace the broken/defective cable modem. Yeah, you probably got it. The landlord owns the modem, because he doesn't want to pay the ripoff $3 a month fee Comcast charges for it in addition to the service charge. (I don't know if that's the fee now, that was the fee Comcast charged me back in 2007.) I think the break even on one is 18 months, because that's how long it takes to recoup the cost of about $50 for a cable modem vs. the $3 a month Comcast charges to rent one.comcast guy wrote:Why didn't you just take the modem to one of our offices and . . . oh, nevermind.Tdarcos wrote:Actually, my Internet has been out for six days, it took that long to get a guy out here to replace the broken/defective cable modem.
