ICJ is gone. I will be running the place from now on.

Post by pinback »

You're gonna see a lot of changes around here in the coming months, as we all settle into the post-ICJ era.

First of all, once I'm given my proper admin access, I'll be deleting and combining most of the forums. Specifically, the cars/politics base will be removed, and the Don Rogers/StarCraft 2 bases will be combined.

Tdarcos' post limit will be raised to 10 lines, but not yet, fatty. Cool your wheels.

I'll probably blow away all the Hugo/ACK/text game stuff because, I mean, Christ, who cares about any of that shit anymore, right?

Cooking and Arcade Games will become two separate bases, because anyone interested in Arcade Games likely hasn't cooked an actual meal that didn't include the instructions "pierce the plastic before putting into the microwave".

Also the colors will be changed.

Stay tuned for more of the POST-ICJ JC BBS ERA, once I am given the proper admin access.

Thank you.

you've just been waiting to get your hands on this old Building and Loan, haven't you, Mr. Potter.

But are changes good things or are they just changes?

My forum got two new users this morning and the BBS got one. I was wondering what was up with the sudden influx.

I think Pinback should make one change for every episode of the Don Rogers Show that's aired in the past two months so that should be ... oh.

I don't care about the other adventure games forums, but get rid of Hugo and I go. It's the only place there is to discuss the game and I want it.

I fought for Starcraft II for you when Jonsey wanted to drop it, so humor me on this one, please.

I have to say, I am definitely pleased by the new color scheme, it looks so much nicer now. Maybe the hot pink for the keyword selections is a little glaring but all in all it's a definite improvement.

Banzi Bug is BACK!

This reminds me of when Frank Burns had to run the 4077 M.A.S.H. unit for a while.

Though Pinback explained that this theme is Jonsey's default "AFK" when he takes a siesta, both the window colour scheme plus the pink on white text, gives me a throbbing headache.

Sarcasm, wit, and joking is being put aside: I can't physically look at the forum as is without feeling nauseous.

I'll be posting over at Robb's BBS (likely both the Telnet and web based incarnations of such) until a solution presents itself...

Yeah, I didn't care for the pink on white either, but the profile doesn't allow you to change the board appearance; the "board style" option seems to be locked on defiance err I mean affiance no matter what you choose.

Yes, but you are not particularly well-liked, whereas I am a cherished member of the community.

More like your forum is shit all over. The weird thing is all the conversations are in Greek, but the board instructions are in English! Nobody thought to enable Greek for the board instructions. But even at that, you can't even register because it asks you a question in Greek that the answer doesn't work, in Greek or English. "What is two ten? (give the word, not the number)" well, neither "twelve" nor the equivalent term in Greek will work.

And? We can read English. Do you really expect me to translate all of that? Nobody even reads instructions.
Nobody thought to enable Greek for the board instructions.
There's no such option.

If you can't speak Greek, you have no reason to register there.

Is it just me, or did you simply miss the nature of my post: I was being silly.

Try again. Go to this page, https://www.phpbb.com/languages/index.php?start=15 and you can download the Greek language pack to have the board be able to give the usage instructions in Greek instead of English.

Folks! Why keep arguing about it? Head on over to http://moltobenny.com/bbs to enjoy such discussions topics as meals, games, and whatever TDR feels like talking about!

All with a pleasing color scheme!

And all in English!

Guess it'd be fair to say that JC is dead.

Long live JC...

Is there some built in server side feature for backing up specific subforums? I'd like to have an archive of all the threads in the Adventure Creation Kit subforum if it isn't too much trouble. I have most of it already in one form or another but it would still be nice to have the option of resurrecting it on another phpbb forum somewhere at some point in the future.

I don't think these forums are going anywhere. pinback is just being dramatic. ICJ *is* taking some sort of hiatus, so I apologize for the current color scheme and things but within a handful of months, everything should be back to normal.

If you really are worried about backing the forum up to some extent, you might try to look around for an e-mail to reach Robb as he is most likely not reading messages here.
