Is there something wrong with the Mr. Bandwidths?

Post by pinback »

Anyone else having this problem on this site? You go to the main forum page, everything shows up, but then it takes like five seconds for the Mr. Bandwidths to show up.

FIVE SECONDS!

I don't have that kind of time, so if this is an issue other people are having, please fix it.
Am I a hero? I really can't say. But, yes.

Okay, that time it took eight seconds.

This is outrageous.

Indeed, some icons need 7 seconds to load. Looking at Chrome's network console, it's always the same 6 icons that do that:

Code: Select all

http://www.joltcountry.com/phpBB2/templates/RPGGvPS2/images/icon_latest_reply.gif

http://www.joltcountry.com/phpBB2/templates/RPGGvPS2/images/folder.gif
http://www.joltcountry.com/phpBB2/templates/RPGGvPS2/images/folder_lock.gif
All other icons are loaded in under 1 second, while the above 6 are always lagging.

There's also an error when trying to load what looks like ads from googleads.g.doubleclick.net. Did you use to have ads in the past here?

I did have ads in the past. I served them for two years. And then, before giving me any money for it, Google said that there was offensive content on the forum. They cancelled my participation in the program and did not give me any money for the ads.

Richest corporation on the face of the planet, everyone.

I thought I had removed the code that I installed to serve ads, but I guess I didn't.

Ah, yes. Same thing happened to me. About $120 worth of ad revenue had accumulated, and Google refused payment and canceled the subscription. I wasn't told that there's offensive content. Instead, I was told that the reason for canceling and refusing payment cannot be disclosed to me.

Translated to common English: "We're not paying you because we don't feel like it, and since you don't have the resources to sue us, we know there's nothing you can do about it."

An hour after I posted a stupid snarky line about google, I received an automated call from google with no message. Coincidence? Or evil intimidation.
