I know he Googles himself because he is a goddamn maniac, so he will find this eventually. I don't care. We have been his PRISONERS for too long.
"We" in this case is "people who enjoy ATC simulators".
"Prisoners" in this case is "because his was the only good one for over a fucking decade. So we had to deal with his DRACONIAN purchasing policies, his high prices, his insistence on using the word "slew" instead of "click" in his documentation, and generally making sure all of his customers were miserable by providing the worst user interface of all time.
But we kept coming back, and kept paying the money, and kept "slewing", because that's all there was.
Well, that JUST CHANGED, bitches. I present to you:
Global ATC from AeroSoft. Every fucking airport in the world. Every approach and departure pattern. CLICKING instead of slewing. A user interface that isn't built purely for punitive reasons. And it's about half the price.
FREE AT LAST! FREE AT LAST!! THANK GOD ALMIGHTY, FREE AT LAST!!
FUCK YOU, RUSSELL B. DAVIS!!
I give Global ATC FIVE FUCKING STARS.
Fuck You, Russell B. Davis

Generally I'm OKAY with companies that develop niche products charging a bit more ($50, $60 and $20 for yearly upgrades), especially when volume is expected to be low. But christ dude, that website would have been voted off of Geocities and their stance on purchasing physical media vs. downloads is circa late 90s.
Competition is a good thing! But I'm curious, is there not a community around creating ATC content / what not?
