RPG Construction Sets

I was made aware of this, earlier today:

Remarkable, Captain.

Has anyone looked about any other RPG construction sets? I confess that I do have a little idea floating around that might be worthwhile to develop, if the system is powerful and friendly enough.

The one that I followed for several years is http://www.verge-rpg.com/, although these days, they go a long time without updates.

There's always RPGMaker 2000 (the original translation page has been down for at least a month, but there are copies floating around and one on my hardrive) which was produced in Japan, pirated, and translated into English by a Russian. Making games with it is really easy, but it's really desinged only for crappy Final Fantasy clones, and getting it to do anything unusual or original requires one to abuse the engine most thoroughly.
