Been avoiding the news, but something got through with Zuckerberg, because he had shut his bitch ass up since November for the most part, so I didn't think to run filters on his name. I guess Facebook is getting rid of that thing they do when dumb hicks spread lies and disinformation? I got that the gist of it was that Zuck is sucking limp orange dick, so that's enough for me to focus on other things than idly scrolling Facebook on my computer. (I had already just never put it on my phone for years.)

Da King's suggestion to use that web extension cut down on the THOT shorts and all that is left is like the same 5 people I know posting updates 10 times a day. All of whom are acquaintances, none of whom are making thrilling enough content that I can't miss it. Nothing against them! But I'm good, life is too short and watching these squealing billionaire pussies show their entire underbelly has truly been cringeworthy.

What is up with Zuckerberg sporting this new "black shirt" look? It's as if he's trying to look "cool" or "relatable" and it just doesn't work. Why would you not sport fancy Italian suits and shit if you had that kind of money?

Starting to get the hang of water stuff in Unreal5. Got a working wave generator! My plan is to finish creating the wavepool from the local park, and if I am totally happy with the visuals and physics; I have ideas for a game around this.

If it works out I would really like to create the area depicted in the "Indoor Roman Wavepool" AI image.

Sometimes apps get their "moment". I saw Pixelfed as an alternative to Instagram or TikTok. I hate those two, so sure. I signed up.

It has the stupid instance nonsense that Mastodon does. Okay whatever. I signed up for one.

Today I installed the app. It took me to a browser page to sign in. OK!

The login button doesn't work.

And that concludes ad much attention as I'll ever want to give "Pixelfed" .

Maybe they run Social Security like an old time bbs?

I didn't see anything involving an official explanation. Where Ben and I work, we have commitments to, like "five nines" of uptime. 99.999% of the time in a year our stuff is supposed to work. I guess the social security site has their own version. 9.9999% of uptime or something.

It's Social Security, they don't have to care.

I think I have said this before, but it is saddening and shocking to me that when one's spouse dies and you are of SS age, you are absolutely on your own to get the money increased for yourself. No help. No organized way of dealing with it. Just a big, hearty FUCK YOU from our piece of shit government to millions of Americans when they are going through the worst thing they will ever likely experience.

They turn off the funds for the dead spouse immediately. That they know. That they've got down to the most efficient system on planet Earth. My dad literally hadn't been cremated yet when the SSI department happily and gleefully let my mom know that they stopped his SS payment.

I created an ESPNBet account today. They dont allow you to enter any of your own information (name, address, etc)... they scan your drivers license and take it all from there. Ok, neat, whatever.

I then go to make a deposit. There is an option to link directly to a bank account. Cool, I've used this on other sites. I select my bank, let it authenticate, choose the account to withdraw from... and get an error message "Sorry, your account information does not match". Note, it doesn't tell me WHAT doesn't match. Just that it doesn't.

I chat with support. "Beauty" tells me that I need to contact my bank. I ask her what doesn't match? She says "everything looks great on our side you need to ask your bank". I asked her what I'm supposed to ask them. She didn't know. I explained to her that HER system said that the "account information doesn't match", so HER system should tell me what is wrong. She was baffled.

I'm GUESSING that there is a problem because they created my account as "<firstname> <middlename>", rather than "<firstname> <lastname>". Of course, there is no way to see or edit account information in the ESPNBet app, so I cannot prove this.

After 30 minutes of back and forth, I just did a Venmo deposit. But it shouldn't be this hard. None of the other 6 apps that I use have this problem.

It is amazing how much more money these sites would make if their payment systems worked.

That last 24H2 update removed WordPad from Windows 11. It was intentional, in order to get us to switch to Word and pay a subscription fee. Cheese-eating fuckheads! The free text editor that's been included since Win98 has been taken away. Luckily people have already made a workaround. I've been using WordPad for twenty plus years. There's no way I'm switching now.

I'm not sure why we don't just use the warez of the last non subscription model they had, there's surely been zero worthwhile innovation since that happened. My wife makes me pay because the OneDrive makes her feel secure so ok I guess for her. Otherwise I'd dig out my word image from IDK 2008 with the codes taped to the disk (shit I don't have a working disk drive) maybe it's still online?

I use Notepad++ for some coding and like it a lot, but if you prefer something with more of the Notepad feel, Notepads seems pretty good.

This was 21 years ago, Gates himself describes Microsoft's problems exactly.

None of their stuff works together.

It's incredible to me that the CEO saw it, ostensibly asked for it to be fixed, was 100% ignored, the processes continued aggressively.... and none of matters, they make billions each quarter.

The balls of those people to say to Gates, essentially, fuck off.
