Re: Random thoughts
It is universal. White onions? 4633, baby. Anybody here like 4889? (Cilantro). I know all the favorites!
It didn't occur to me that anyone uses anything else but self-checkout anymore.

Re: Random thoughts
Thought I had a serious problem with my right ear. It's been randomly pounding for the past 2 weeks.
..hydrogen peroxide seems to have fixed it.

Re: Random thoughts
I asked if it was boxing day.
My wife said no, that was the day after Christmas.
I really wanted to know if the recycling bin had to go out with the garbage bin tonight....

Re: Random thoughts
Thought it was universal but I found an exception a few weeks ago: bulk foods, especially spices. Winco had a totally different scheme for several things I bought (learned this at home by googling the plu's to try to figure out which was which).pinback wrote: Tue Dec 21, 2021 6:22 am It is universal. Nice! Japanese tools are never cheap (especially soldering/desoldering stuff) but they are nearly always superior.

Mitutoyo is top of the line for Japanese stuff and it's slightly more affordable than the Starrett brand from the US. The only hitch is the metric graduations. All my career I've converted metric to imperial so I never even tried to 'get' metric in my head

Jersey Mike's is great but I would never order a hot sub from there.

Re: Random thoughts
My friend has hoarding tendencies. Every time I go over there I see more stuff piled up in the basement. He bought a cheap audio mixer a couple years ago. It broke last year so I bought him a nice Yamaha sixteen channel last Christmas. I was over there last week and I spotted the broken mixer sitting on a pile of stuff.
"Why don't you throw out this broken one?" I asked.
"I dunno, I might use it for something."
hoarding tendencies...
Later he asked if I wanted an almost new Thrustmaster flightstick. He had bought it (along with the rudder pedals) back when he was into Microsoft Flight Simulator. It was dusty from sitting around for ten years but in almost new shape. He'll never use it anymore. I said sure I'll take it. When I got home I tossed that thing right into my trash. It's what he should be doing with his old stuff but just can't.

It's probably something like the way the UPC assigns product barcodes.

Re: Random thoughts
No such luck. I'm probably the healthiest sick person you'll ever get to know. My wight is coming down, my blood pressure is so low the nurse taking it asked if I'm meditating, my diabetes is under control, and my computers are working. I'm just unable to move, have to shit in a diaper, and pee in a urinal. At least the river of diarrhea every time I shit has stopped. That calls for a story...Ice Cream Jonsey wrote: Wed Jan 19, 2022 9:09 pmTwo weeks. Re: Random thoughts
There is this thing on Twitter where you can "quote tweet" and your tweet goes ABOVE what you are quoting.
I'd use it for jokes but the punchline is above the premise. You'd read the punchline first.
I'd use quote tweets more, you see, if the people at Twitter weren't so fucking stupid they fucked up THE DIRECTION IN WHICH ENGLISH IS READ.
