Finally, after giving so much blood, sweat and tears, the internet has decided to do this one thing for me. I ... I can't thank you enough.

They arrived! Vark, thanks so much. They are amazing. I am instantly taken back home and this is seriously one of the absolute nicest things anyone has ever done for me. Did you try any of them? Were they nice to you when you picked them up?

The Zarpentines were very nice. It's hard to leave the place without buying some kind of baked good. It smells sooo good when you walk in you just want to have one of everything.

I was going to Next Day Air them to you but the shipping would have been over two hundred dollars, that's a -bit- much for a dozen donuts. So I settled for sending you week-old donuts instead, glad you are enjoying them.

I got the wife one of the Mother's Day special donuts from Donuts Delite this past may.
I can't believe I spent $5 on a donut. She liked it. I'm not sorry. But $5. For a donut.
I'll stick with my 90c bagels from Bagel Land.

What? No! No! No! What? No! No!

No!

God dammit.

The last trip I had to see my father before the one where I flew out and he coincidentally died, my wife and my parents went to Zarpentine's. My dad said it was one of his favorite weekends of his entire life. I always went there when I was back and they were open. Everything they made was delicious. I sure hope I scroll up and see that I said that they had my favorite donuts. They sure had my favorite cider.

Gone, now forever. Like tears in the rain.

Hey! They did an about-face and are reopening. The massive letter writing campaign has worked

HILTON, N.Y. (WROC) — A beloved family farm in Hilton will be re-opened: Zarpentine Farm. Just a week ago, the business posted on Facebook that they would not be re-opening.

A spokesperson for the business confirmed to News 8 over email that Rob & Kim Zarpentine are back running the business, and plan to do an extensive remodel, with a promise that it will be better than ever.

The farm is known for its cider, market, apples, and baked goods.

Their planned re-opening date is October 1.

Nice!

I have only recently tried:

Apple fritter
bear claw

From my local donut place. They both cost extra but are amazing.

Who TF "charges extra" for two of the most basic donuts??

BTW, casting my vote for FAVORITE DONUT here... huge fan of the Vanilla Creme. Prefer the one with chocolate on top over the powered suger version, but either is acceptable.

I don't know what was wrong with it in the first place that it needed a remodel?

I feel like this is how I lost out on ever seeing Peter Hirschberg's arcade. I kept putting it off. Now I need to get back there to Zarpentine's and soak it in.

I don't understand what happened though.

I dunno! It seems anything that isn't just fried dough or fried dough with icing or glaze is about 50 cents more. Longjohns filled with custard or whatever same thing. So most everything is 1.39 but the ones with extra stuff are 1.89
