Believe it or not, but in my first draft that line was, "Good on you for grabbing firm hold of your destiny (among other things)." But then I stopped and wondered if that was really the tone I wanted to adopt in what was otherwise a heartfelt message. With a pang of regret, I deleted the line, but I retained a vague hope that someone might come along and fill the gap, if you will. Paul delivered!

I went looking through the phpBB3 profile settings for a method of disabling my account without actually thinking about it, which was the moment I realized that Jolt Country is no longer healthy for me, mentally and to that extent of being uncomfortable, time wise. Being here is akin to a concept in DBT: emotional self harm, where you stay in environments or recount events that you know will eat away at you, and I've learned to identify such things as they develop instead of in a week or six months.

So I'm going to check out in an actual permanent way, that isn't due to an episode of emotional instability or other perceived crisis.

What does that mean?

I'm turning off all JC notifications and filtering any that slip through into an unobtrusive folder in my email box. No lurking. No muscle memory reaction to typing it or selecting it "accidentally," which also means I ask that if anyone contacts me via email or another platform, please do so in a "hey man, let's play a game" and not a "what happened?" way.

I've been hurt enough and my life right now is so full of positivity, impact, and joy because I started to understand that I deserve better, and no one deserves to be a victim.

Remember to always stay frosty, Denizens of Jolt Country.

I don't know what "DBT" is, but in "DBT" is one of the stages giving long lists of desired tasks to people to do for you? Is it like Alcoholics Anonymous only at one point you trick people into doing your shopping?

What a jackass. ICJ's angry post was his best work in this thread. Retro is absolutely not one of the greatest posters on this BBS, or anywhere else. I'm sorry to hear Retro is leaving the board (again), but if it is better for his mental health that he do so then I won't fault him for it. The thing is I think this message board is, on the whole, nicer than real life so it's kind of surprising to me that he finds JC unhealthy. We're not Reddit, Facebook, or Twitter. Maybe CO or Billy might attack you for your political or movie opinions from time to time, but outside of a heated conversation those guys are pretty cool too generally speaking.

What Ben is saying about Retro's behavior on the Discord is undoubtedly true, but I think Retro has been doing better lately. Is that just my imagination? By and large he hasn't been harassing people here, right? He seemed to make peace with Paul recently. Maybe he was still harassing Flack from time to time, but who among us doesn't harass Flack from time to time? One thing I'll always appreciate is how when I asked Retro to stop threatening to kill himself all the time he completely stopped doing that on here. I didn't even expect that. He cared enough to listen and stop the bit, if we can really call it a bit.

I expected Paul to provide the necessary musical tribute to RR in this thread, but since he didn't I will.

Did you have to modify the lyrics in that one song to construct it so that others are blamed or -- ooo, nope, I guess that just fit.

Pinback didn't troll or "give me shit" in any sort of friendly way: when he asked to play a multiplayer game with me, I offered Northgard, then he went on an angry set of questioning every personal issue of mine and another former member of his Discord server (which he started before the game.) He has also been attacking me on JC completely out of context, actual, real taking his time to throw everything at me that he can in a vicious, vindictive way including twisting the story he noted above about why I was banned from his Discord.

I've kept ICJ abreast of all the actual abuse, harassment, and gas lighting that Ben has been steadily escalating including when Ben flippantly and sarcastically responded to my polite requests to tone it down. I'm saddened by the fact Jonsey ranted at me (even if it was momentary anger, but a PM from him echoed the sentiment) when I repeatedly told him that Ben was actively attacking and simply not "giving me shit;" I'm well aware that my behavior has been similar, but my poor behavior doesn't in any form justify the way I've been treated by Ben.

At this point, I'm willing to post full conversations including emails I sent to ICJ since PB has been allowed to continue to slander, attack, and make me genuinely uncomfortable, which includes behaviors I told him were causing me internal and painful reactions that were actively endangering my therapy because of how close they hit home.

His behavior has been abhorrent and I'm genuinely hurt by what has been said here from both Robb and Ben.
