Well, that definitely excludes me; I never knew the guy and only found out about him after he died. I had signed up shortly after the tragic incident.

I've had my share of heartbreak and despair, but I can't imagine what you went through. Question, if I may, in order that I might learn something, and you need not answer either or both it if you do not wish to do so. Does the fact he died make it easier, harder, or had no difference? Or the fact it was suicide?

Nobody here would suggest you "move past it", because that is impossible and inappropriate. The best we can do is help open a window where your trauma does not define your entire existence. Where you and your pain are not one and the same. Where there is, finally, mercifully, some breathing room between you and the horrors you have endured. Where you can taste the fresh air, after being drowned by the nightmares of your past.

You are more than that. Your attempts to stay safe in your bubble of pain and distress will be dismissed at every turn.

This makes us (me) look like fucking bastards at first, but once there is some daylight there, you will thank us (me) for saving your life.

Although you already said you were done here and replied again almost immediately, if you can take that, this place will be a wonderful thing for you, and it will open up windows for you that you'll wish had been opened years ago.
