Most people I see with kids look stressed and harried
True, but you can get the kids to wear silly clothes and have them say things that will mildly embarrass them for years.

Example: I never gave my kids horsie rides, they were always mule rides and they had to sing the 'bumba-deeda' song to get me to move. It was only years later that they discovered they had been actually singing a Van Halen tune.

Do you feel you are in a spot to talk about it?

My wife did not want them, and I could go either way. That sounds like a bad mix, to have half a parent up for it. I also really valued/value my free time. I was always like, huh, do I want to give this up for children? It was always easier to think no.

Everything changed when my littlest nephew was born, but I will say that on Sundays I don't really get much done. We are doing something or playing virtually the entire day. But with it one day a week, it's a really good thing for me. (And if tragedy ever happened for his situation, I'd care for him permanently, I am just saying.)

So I guess that's why. I think it has all worked out for the best!

Yeah, that is about a 15 year range when they belong to you!

Honestly I never really wanted kids, neither does my kid sister, maybe something to do with our childhood. I would have done it for my wife but she always went back and forth about it. Frankly both our childhoods were rough enough that we've kinda destroyed each other with arguing, not good for kids.
