If at some point you need to get back to things, just let me know. I'm running systems tests right now so I am able to go back and forth easily.

I'm balancing at the moment. My boss is on vacation and I'm moving to a new department next week, so productivity in this cubicle has hardly been skyrocketing anyway.

Hey, can you post the board? I apparently fucked something up, because I thought Debaser's queen was at e8. :(

Shitshitshit. This might be my fault. I don't think it is, but it might be my makeshift board. Still, it's the same board I used against Pinner without confusion...
EDIT: Wait, it is my fault. I couldn't use black and white squares if I wanted the pieces to show up so I put the queens on the wrong sides. Fuck! Let me redo my last move.

I've got the board as follows:
Code: Select all
Debaser (black)
R N B Q K _ _ R
P P _ P _ P P P
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
B _ _ _ _ _ _ _
P _ P _ _ _ N P
R _ _ N _ _ _ R
_ _ P P P P _ _
_ N B Q K B _ _
With your bishop at A5 and your night at g4. Whatchoo got?
edit: ::cool::
edit #2 this is now where it was at the time, minus the fuckups that come later in the thread

You (ICJ) didn't set up the board right. From white's perspective, BOTH queens should be on the LEFT side of the board. From black's perspective, both queens should be on the right.
Look at any of the photographs to see how it's supposed to be.

No, you were right in the first place. Put the queen back to b6 and play on.

Oh. I didn't know that. I thought that they mirrored each other.
edit: What kind of fucking game doesn't have them mirror each other?

We both screwed up in different ways. In my defence, I was using red and green squares so the "queen always starts on her color" rule of thumb wasn't applicable. But yeah, Ben's right, the Queen's go across from eachother.
EDIT: Wait... okay. So I was right? Okay. Your move, I guess...

They ARE mirroring each other. If you put a mirror in the middle of the board, that's exactly what you'd see (except in a different color.)

Okay. The queen is on B6.
