Please, elucidate your thoughts. It could be that I am thick and just not getting it. I seek knowledge, basically. The elf queen I don't think was cast very well, but I think the scene was decent.
I saw the film one other time in the theatre and one other time on Divx, so I am not just going off the intial viewing, but here's what I came away with:
1) They get shelter from the elves, blah blah
2) The elf woman has prophecies for Frodo.
3) She makes a big deal of not being tempted by the ring --
4) -- but DOES NOT GO WITH THEM!! Especially reprehensible considering that there's no Tom Bombadill in that universe and therefore Frodo is completely alone in terms of being the lone untempted dude. Therefore, I am not sure what function she served, unless it was to give her a token scene so that you understand just who narrated the very beginning of the movie. If she does more in the Two Towers or Return of the King, then cool, but if that was just her token scene so we all (who did not read the book) know who she was then I think it was a bit longish, ultimately didn't go anywhere, and didn't provide motivation for her not relinquishing the elfish rod of leadership and making the trek (which differs to my own personal rod of leadership, which is in fact miuch longer than that scene, always makes the necessary trek, and is always getting into tro-- ah, this analogy is going nowhere, mission abort!).
I should elaborate: he played the part fine, I just never thought the guy who was in that aforementioned movie would ever act again, sort of like how when Michael Douglas killed him in the flick he effectively killed him in real life.I disagree, I think they cast Aaragorn well.
I guess it was like how, during Independence Day, some people shouted out, "Hey, that's Data!!" or, in LOTR's other case, "Hey, that's Agent Smith from the Matrix!" I try not to be "that guy" but in that case, I was in fact that guy.
