That's all right, your responses, even though cruel, at least keep the idea that someone is reading my arcade-based nonsense, which in turn keeps me sane.

Thank you.

I didn't do it to be cruel, I just know Aardvark gets a kick out of it.

I love to see Aardvark laugh.

Yeah, written on it is, "desperately remark on anything I possibly can as my parter in movie-making struggles to double click on "polybius.exe" in total darkness." Wooo, I feel like we're Inside the Actor's Studio!

... What does that mean? I got your joke, I was just going along with it. Would you rather I say, "Hah, good one"? Because that sounds sarcastic.

The only way I know how to show people, on the Internet (and off it) that I appreciate their joke is to continue it. Which might be extremely annoying, but fuck it, you humans appear to love the validation.

I erased my post when I realized I hadn't fully comprehended your last post.

Now this is THREE posts you'll have to delete.

What did you think I said? Jesus Christ I am a loser for asking you this in the middle of a night on a Friday. I should be drunk.

By "I didn't fully comprehend it", I guess I mean "I didn't fully, actually read it, and just saw a bunch of gobbledygook which I took to mean you didn't get the joke, but then 30 seconds later, when I actually read it after my knee-jerk response, I realized you HAD gotten the joke. Then I quickly went back to erase the post, but since you don't let us delete stuff, I just had to backspace over my shit and hope I got to it in time. Which I didn't."

I'll own this one. This is all on me. I just hope you'll do me the favor of forgiving me, and then deleting the last five posts in this thread.

All right, the last five posts have been deleted!

I have started on the control panel wood at long last.

I went to drill some pilot holes for the spade bit that will do the 1 and 1/8th inch hole necessary for the joysticks, buttons and spinner.

I have now broken two (2) drill bits trying to do the pilot holes.

Apparently the wood piece I am using has a nice granite base. Or something.

Here is a question for everyone. I want to play "Future Pinball" on this thing. It's a computer pinball game that lets you make tables and so forth.

I am going to put two buttons on the side of the control panel for left and right flipper. Would it be dumb to have two buttons at the bottom of the cab for tilt-left and tilt-right? You'd basically kick them to tilt the pinball game in a certain direction. I don't know, I think it might be all right.

No, it would not. We had to pay hundreds of dollars when we left our last apartment because of you kicking things.

Yeah, well, unless the LANDLORD OF PINBALL is gon' drop by, I think we're going to be fine here. I'm going to be fine here.

First off, I am totally putting nudge buttons at the bottom of the cabinet. I appreciate everyone's input, but I was secretly hoping you'd confirm what I had already planned on doing.

OK, next thing: I got a corded drill with a Lowe's card for Christmas, so I was able to do the rest of the holes in the board. It has buttons for Stargate and Asteroids and that's it. Controllers for Robotron, Major Havoc, and Discs of Tron. Great, wonderful, aces.

Oh - I should mention: my cordless drill could do like two holes before needing recharging. I have a bad memory, so I'd do the two holes and forget about the project for three weeks.

TONIGHT I will jigsaw around the space I created for the Major Havoc roller. And post pics.

Oh, yeah. The big remaining issue concerns whether or not I want to spring for a 25" arcade tube, or a computer monitor that will look shitty and need a bezel and shit.

I am saving up for bigger and better things, so I dunno what to do. A 25" computer monitor would be much cheaper, and could be purchased off Craigslist, which is great, as I have been hoping to send out 30 e-mails to people and get 2 replies. This will scratch that itch.
