Yay, it turned out to just need a new laser, I'm back in business for only $40 after a $10 discount they gave me for no obvious reason.

Hah, my xbox just died over the past weekend too. 3 red rings, no video or error codes.
It's a launch xbox, it has been opened a couple years ago to flash the DVD drive.
Think you could have your bro reflow me, Vark?

Let me make the call and I'll post right back.
Edit: Thirty bucks. I bet I can talk him down to twenty, tho.
Let me know. Turnaround is usually 24 hours.

OK sweet!
Any interest in a Commodore 128 w/ green monitor? A box of disks and some <gasp> store bought software.. I hooked it up for me and the kid to mess around with and we couldn't get it to load anything with *, 8, 1 which should load anything on the disk right?
If not, I have the boring old money too. 20-30 is a fine deal for such proper reflow work.

I know someone in Oklahoma that would just LOVE a C-128 and all the accouterments. I don't have room to support another system, having enough fun with Linux. Call it twenty and a job well done. What's a good time and place to meet up?

I'm pretty wide open. Live in Hilton so the west side is easier to get to.
Next weekend the kid goes to her mom's, in the city if that's more accessible. Been to the new California Brewhaus since they painted it? It looks strangely.. almost.. inviting now =)
We have a backup so it's not a dire life or death situation that I get this XBox to you as soon as humanly possible.

We should revisit this after next week, when I (presumably/hopefully) start my new job.
After which there will be more destinations to triangulate from.
And, (presumably/hopefully), the aformentioned $20. Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

Not a problem. Just let me know. I work in Spencerport which is just a short range missile launch from Hilton, so after work is easy for me.
