SENT!
Thanks, buddy. That is going to be the most valuable item in all of arcade gaming, except for the butt on a Boon-ga Boon-ga.

The plate showed up yesterday, Vark!
OK. Let me get my act together and photo-document it going in. I think that would be a great thread.
Is it OK if I take a picture of the build order included in the wrapper, Vark? Or is that private or proprietary?

Go for it! Not like anyone will understand the CNC laser code or anything.

So, THIS was the original plate, that I took off the MagPlus Joystick:
And this is the one Aardvark beautifully LASERED for me:
It's actually screwed into the joystick itself in that picture.
I added it to the Polybius game (that has the 48-in-1 board) on Tuesday evening and it works GREAT. The joystick on that thing is finally of the quality I wanted:
Very, very awesome. A fine 48-in-1! And special thanks to Aardvark, who totally saved me from having to use glue or drill new holes in my metal control panel. Vark, you're a star!!

This is awesome for two reasons. One is, it'll really improve the joystick on your 48-in-1. And two, it gives me an excuse as to why I didn't get 48 world records why I was there. Stupid old joystick.
Seriously though, Vark is the man. Nice job.

Vark, take a goddamn bow!
I've yet to set any personal records with the MagPlus. I was playing Donkey Kong like a risky a-hole. The thing to remember about Donkey Kong: if you PLAN on every barrel taking the shortest path to kill you, you can be pleasantly surprised when it doesn't. If you don't plan on that and you are me, you will DIE. It feels like every time I die in DK, it's in the middle of the first level, or against the spring on the elevators. I really should be able to correct both of those things.
Played some Qix with it. Brilliant. God, what a fine joystick.
Someone will eventually play games at my home, and they will fire up Galaga. I will let you know how it goes. I'm not allowed to play it myself.

Still amazed that my buddy Vark was able to make a part that allowed me to use this (amazing) joystick. Seriously, several times a week Vark, I play that thing and I remember that you are the man.
I saw this very short documentary tonight (8 minutes) about a guy who works at a metal fabrication shop. Is place at all like the place you work at?
