Well, that was a great episode. And none of it -- NONE of it - was "predicted" by tedious message board posters. Vince Gilligan, you fucking got it.

That was one of the most boring episodes of Breaking Bad I've watched. I expected some with more "oomph" for a season opener.

Well, as much as it was being hyped on Facebook and the preview trailer for the new season, I guess I just expected more explosions and action. Maybe it'll pick up more in the next few episodes.

Okay. How about Episode 2? Got any complaints about that? Ready to MEH IT UP???

Just before anyone else comes in an screws this up, Episode 2 was maybe the best thing I've ever seen on TV. Which means the only thing that could beat it out would be another episode of BB. But I mean, it's getting so good at this point that it's not even funny.

I know we said that about Season 4, but this is -- this is a level now that I don't think will ever be matched.

Unreal.

Some of you may remember me saying dismissive things about Breaking Bad. It's true; I don't think it's been a flawless ride. I thought season two was kind of awkward about turning up the intensity (considering where things eventually go, I take this one back). I also thought some of the drug user depictions in the show were so off the mark that I found it distracting, and I found the heroin overdose thing so dopey that I stopped watching the show for a while.

That said, I couldn't avoid you guys talking about how great the show was for so long that I did eventually catch up with a marathon sometime in the last several months. I'm glad I did. I'm going to get enthused every time I see Giancarlo Esposito in something from now on, and Hank's character arc has been especially great.

There were some things I didn't love about the more-recent seasons. I think Bryan Cranston sometimes gets too much screen time (sure, he's a backbone of the show, but still, especially when it comes to asshole/cranky Walter- moderation, man) and I don't think “Fly” was one of the best episodes ever. Still, I admit that the show is very strong.

I agree with those that say that this season has started off really well, too. The first episode was a great episode that allowed us to get our bearings after such a conclusion, and I really like the new developments. I thought tonight's episode where there were further implied connections/parallels between the consumerism of fast food and drug culture was brilliant. I am very curious where they are going with that.

I'm glad you're enjoying the show more, anyway, although complaining about too much Bryan Cranston in Breaking Bad is like complaining about too much meat on your steak.

I was just reading some episode synopsis stuff online. In the first episode this season, I guess Walt put the number "52" on his pancakes. I guess Skyler put "50" on his meal for some birthday in another season (in better times). I did not know this and therefore did not see "52" at all; I saw a mushroom cloud, which I figured represented his volatility. I have to think this was intentional, and that is cool.

Walt giving the truck such a "magnetic personality" in Ep05S01 was an absolutely brilliant plot device.

Comcast's Xfinity service provides something extra at no charge. Every TV show on every channel is available for at least 7 days more starting the day after it was broadcast. It's in the on-demand menu, you just look up the show name and there will be sometimes be 2, 3 or 4 episodes of the series available for catching up. So if I miss the show when it's broadcast I can catch it on another day.

Mike shooting the guy who's trying to bargain for his life three times in mid sentence in Ep05S02 reminded me of Jules in Pulp Fiction:
