ICJ, while you are installing new mods for the forum can you put one in that converts metric values to imperial ones?

Three posts in a row. FAIL. BANNED.

Also, if you were so goddamn smart, you wouldn't misuse the phrase "begs the question" like that.

So far, since I have re-enabled your account there have been three incidents of replying consecutively and one 12 line post.

I just want to call this out so when your account becomes temporarily shut off again you understand why.

Yes, your account got disabled without warning last time. I felt bad about that. I put it back on. You haven't shown any evidence, however, that you care about the constraints we have put on you. This is a small forum that can be overrun when one person dominates the conversation.

And look, I am still running a different forum at Caltrops where you can say whatever you want whenever you want and you will never, ever get banned over there.

I am not putting these constraints in to give you a hard time, I am putting them there because of my attempts to work with you on this, attempts you are willfully ignoring.

Right now your account will be experiencing downtime from May 6th until May 20th. PLENTY OF WARNING.

And you exceeded the 10 line limit over on the Hugo forum.

Paul. PAUL? That's three times you replied consecutively and twice you went over the 10 line limit in less than 48 hours.

I am removing your ability to post on JC from May 6th to May 20th.

First, I'm using the 10-line limit in when I'm editing. I check those very carefully, but the system uses a narrower display when not in editing mode.

Wait a minute. You personally said that the line limit DOES NOT APPLY on messages in the bases dealing with Interactive fiction and when discussing those issues. I specifically confirmed this earlier in this conversation
Tdarcos wrote:Also, one of the rules was an original or response posting regarding adventure games (as long as it is reasonably related to the person's question) in those bases are exempted from the line limit.
and you did not inform me that this had been changed. If I'd been able to delete posts, Id'v been able to take them back. Once a post is saved, it's impossible to remove it. What can I say, I'm trying but I guess I'm not trying hard enough. But at least you warned me. I'd like to ask for a reconsideration, or in the alternative is there a way I could make up for it? (hint, hint, hint)

I am throwing out all the old rules and shit and only using the new ones in this base.

I am going to make it even simpler. Here are the rules, this is the last time I will change them. This is as simple as it can get.

1) You fit your posts into 10 lines.

2) Let someone else reply to a thread before posting twice consecutively

3) NO MORE GODDAMN QUOTES.

I want you to look at something. Look at the image below and count. Exactly 10 lines, just slightly over 9.

Now look at it when rendered in the actual message base, and goes to 13 lines.

I think it writes based on character width, which means sometimes a message which views as 10 lines will go longer once saved. How do I compensate for this? Or is it I have to wait until I save, then if I discover it went over, go back and cut words out until I reduce its size, or what?

I'm not trying to be a pest or a 'rules lawyer', I just want to know how to comply with them. (This message confirmed in display at 8 lines)

If you are occasionally slightly over due to quote boxes and formatting while adhering to the rest of the rules then I will understand. I am not looking to "get" you, I am trying to figure out a way to stop from shutting this place down.

That is what I figured, and again, I'm not trying to get away with anything, I just want to know how to comply with the rules so I don't get banned.

Now, since you set the exact rules, and there are now 3 of them, do I get a mulligan? (If you don't know what that is, ask Pinback, he knows golf. Oh, and speaking of Pinback, when do I get my fucking $5?) (This message confirmed as 5 lines.)

Perhaps we should start a new thread:

"RULES (only for TDarcos)"

This way, all rules are established. Then, there will be a fresh slate! However, I expect this thread to extend over many, many, pages until finalized and closed.

Yes, we are starting over. But seriously I am not going to pish posh this shit ESPECIALLY SINCE I am running a different forum at caltrops that lets you post with no threat of a ban.

Which brings up a whole new question, why? Obviously, on radio I'm using my verbal IQ and thinking differently than I would in written form. My sister says that your IQ rises as you get older. She once asked me a few years ago what my IQ was and I said that, when I was 12, I was tested; I had a verbal IQ of 130 and a written IQ of 95 for an average IQ of 115. Her response? "Oh that's ridiculous, my IQ is 144 and you're obviously smarter than me."

But that does beg the question a bit as to why, since in both the case of JC and CT I'm responding in writing. I have an idea but it's not nice. This is small group, fairly bright people. Caltrops isn't huge group but is much larger and user population isn't as bright, so I tend to shine better. And maybe because you can screen me out; you only see titles and don't see my post there unless you click on it.
Which IQ were you using when you interviewed a recording on the latest episode of the Don Rogers show?

Google already provides that at the search box. Just type "value (one scale) in (or to) other scale"

100 kg in pounds
100 pounds in kg
10 pounds in grams
100 miles in kilometers
100 mph in kph
1000 feet per second to mph

When did I interview a recording? :) I think you mean interviewed on the recording. You know, words have exact meanings and you might learn that first. Oh. I know what you mean. You can't blame me for that, <s>Pinhead</s> Don Rogers lied to me and pretended it was someone real.

Fuck you!

I am getting fucking sick and tired of quack-doctoring amateur psychologists (especially the cretinous reprobates at Caltrops) misdiagnosing me with <s>alzheimer's disease</s> err I mean asperger's syndrome when they haven't the slightest goddam idea what they are talking about, and wouldn't know what a psychological problem was if they were struck on the head by a copy of the DSM IV!

You interviewed a recording at about 29 minutes of this file: http://moltobenny.com/drs/drs050113.mp3

Okay, what would YOU call what you have, described by an inability to understand humor or anything anybody is talking about, ever?

Let's answer that question. Paul, you never understand jokes, are incapable of making any and never know what anyone is talking about*. Give us the name for this you PREFER and we'll stop using the word "autistic" and "Asperger's."

* Not saying this is a bad thing. It simply is. Bad would be like if you were black.

LOOK DSM IV 4 MATCHING CONDITIONS STOP AS IAM TELLING <s>PEOPLE</s> THE INCOMPETENT CRETINOUS REPROBATES, PRIME REQUIREMENT 4 ASPERGER'S: LACK ABILITY / INABILITY TO EMPHASIZE STOP When I got mad on radio about lockout, wasn't that I'm upset about, you supposedly say I your friend, then blocked account without word to me. Emphasize and understand your frustrations, had similar problem with spammers shit-bombing my website.

Placing notice here post-facto help me none; "see messages since last visit" function not work for visitors, must search everything 2 find new msgs then read, opposed to read latest messages that have changes, which can't do if not using account.

Is there a SINGLE thread around here that you haven't responded to? Is it time for a rule where he can't reply to threads he didn't start?
