I wasted every penny I had tricking out my car then went and saved it in my garage. Then when I used it to drive to a mission, I came back out after the mission and my car was gone. I figured it was back in my garage. Nope. Then I checked my house. Nope.

Turns out "saving" your car doesn't actually save your car. It just holds it. Once you take it out and something happens to it, it's gone forever. It's GTA. If you use a car for longer than 10 minutes, you're likely going to lose it at some point. So what is the point of customizing your vehicle when you can basically NEVER use it?

This is the kind of QOL stuff that always holds GTA back for me despite how good other parts are. Once you put the car in the garage it should always be there, if it's destroyed you pay a fee to have it repaired. Saints Row figured it out. Why can't GTA? Car collecting and customization was a huge part of SR for that reason.

But...Trevor is the best character ever.

Mafia 2 has the car customizing thing and that works very nicely although somewhat limited in scope. Is there add on content yet for V?

Trevor is fantastic. Lethargic and I have found common ground.

At what point do they go back to the character they started with? Hour six? Hour seven!

Great storytellers, these guys! Hahahaha! Ha! Hahahaha!

Lex, tell everyone who worked on the stories for the old games that they suck cock.

I read that there is a "skip mission" button which is all I ever wanted out of these games. So this may very well actually be a great game.

I bought the PS3/GTAV bundle today. I am leaving on a week long trip tomorrow. I will take the new PS3 with me so I can play this game in the hotel. I will turn up the volume real loud so the people next to me think I am getting some action instead of playing videogames while sitting in a hotel.

Within the first 30-45 minutes of mission-based gameplay. You are dumb, and haven't played the game.

After the third failure you can skip a mission. But the only reason you'd want or need to do that is YOU ARE DUMB, AND HAVEN'T PLAYED THE GAME.

Yeah. I wish the character select opened earlier. (At least for the first two guys, Trevor deserves his epic intro.) It forces you to spend so much time with Franklin at the start that he becomes the star. It's a game about Franklin.

So it was jarring having to play with Michael all of a sudden. I don't care about him at all. I'm invested with Franklin. All I wanted to do was play Franklin. Until Trevor shows up. Now I take turns between them and only use Michael when I have to.

The sales of this game are insane. It surpassed 1 billion dollars over the weekend. This makes it the most profitable entertainment title (and not just video game) of all time. Even Avatar didn't make more than 300 million over the first weekend, and GTA V is up to 1 billion and counting.

Just insane. And I doubt the game is *that* good.

It's the highest rated game in Metacritic history. Unless they're all LYING TO YOU.

I'll believe it when (if?) it comes out for Windows. Best game of the decade means it has to beat Mass Effect 2 in my book :-P

Actually GTA IV is the highest rated game with a 98. GTA V is second with a 97.

Which goes to show that numbers are complete bullshit. There is nobody on the planet who would argue GTA IV is the best game ever. It's not even one of the best games of this gen. It's not even one of the GTA game of this gen.

The only reason that game is so high is because reviewers only had a limited amount of time with it before having to write their reviews. Many writers have since admitted their scores would not have been so high had they played the whole game.

Well, when I wrote that, GTAV also had a 98. I guess Q23 must have submitted their review since then ^_______________________________________^

How the hell do you ever make enough money to buy that 250,000,000 property? I'm 60% through the game and I've only had two heists that I made any money from and they were less than a million each.

Bootstraps, lethargic. Bootstraps.

Here is what I have done so far!

I did the first heist with the white guy.

I became a black man. "Franklin?"

I failed to follow ... the other guy. Lamar?

I did follow Lamar.

I changed my clothes. Man, I need to work out so I can get better clothes.

We tried to repossess a motorcycle.

Lamar committed about 20 homicides.

Lamar took the motorcycle. It's not even that great a bike!

I went to a strip club. I "flirted" and "touched" the dancer. They recorded three entire lines of dialogue for the flirting part!

I got thrown out of the strip club for doing what the game told me.

I then operated a tow truck.

Now I don't know what to do next.

It becomes one of Franklin's permanent vehicles later on YO. I fixed it up at the shop and now that bike is balling BITCH.

On the other hand I also fixed up one of Michael's permanent vehicles and then it disappeared again YO. More money lost YO. Not so permanent I guess BITCH.
I got thrown out of the strip club for doing what the game told me.
It also tells you not to be seen by the security YO. That's the "game" part of it BITCH. You have to set the camera angle so you can see him coming and going YO. I shoved my black pecker all up in that stripper's guts YO.
I then operated a tow truck.

Now I don't know what to do next.
Operate the tow truck some more BITCH.

GTA V may be the first GTA game that gets better as it goes YO. I am usually quite bored after a week of playing YO. This one keeps getting more nuts BITCH. There's a bank robbery just like that one in LA where the guys wore body armor YO. Franklin suddenly develops the ability to communicate with dogs YO. I jumped a dirt bike onto a moving train earlier and shit my pants a little bit BITCH.

I just hate any mission where I have to fly the stupid helicopters YO. I gotta think flying a helicopter in real life is much easier than in these games BITCH.

I am really excited to hear Flack post about the game. I think we've talked for nearly 15 years and this is the first time we've played the same game.

Hmm... I am not sure. I have not played enough. CAN you customize a car? There are so many cars that I haven't felt the need to do it yet.

The icons that look like spray cans is where you can customize vehicles.

But like I said before, you can lose the car. It can get wrecked, it can get stolen, it can just disappear for no reason. And some cars cost a LOT of money to trick out. So it seems like it's only worth it to do it to the cars you earn permanently like that motorcycle from the beginning.

Though even permanent cars can be a hassle. Apparently Michael's son took Michael's car that I had customized and "tricked it out" with dollar sign rims. This undid all the customization I did earlier.

GTA Online is going to be better about that. If your car is lost or stolen you can get it back for a fee. You can buy car insurance to lower the fees. Don't know why that's not available on the single player.
