I'll give you Suzanne Sommers, yes. But George Foreman was kind of a jerk as a boxer and I didn't know who Richard Karn was until I looked him up and saw his face. Now I get it. Sure, sure, we -- as a nation -- like him and Dionne Warwick.

I have decided to cut you some slack, and just chalk up your "only pitchperson that we liked before the pitches" statement to drunk typing.

Also, I only know Foreman for the amazing grills he pitches, and added the legendary status to him in an attempt to demean your original statement.

It's also possible that we have differing opinions regarding the matter?

In this case, aside from George Foreman -- and I can't remember if he started to become lovable first as a pitchman, or first when he was a 40-year old heavyweight champ -- I did forget about some people.

Are you starting shit? Why are you always starting shit with me and Billy Mays?

No.

I think "always" is a bit of an exaggeration considering the fact that I have only been on this forum since you gave me that delicious Sizzler gift card about week ago, and because I am your side about 90% of the time in the debates here.

Whoops, I meant for that to be a reply to Pinback, not you. And I think Pinback knew that, but he deigned not to reply, to make me look like a goddamn fool.

There are some difficulties using this BBS software, thank you for hanging in there. We are scheduled for an update some time in 2026.

The Honorable Mentions of Pitch

1. Tappy Tibbons - If you like Requiem for a Dream, it is probably because of Jennifer Connelly, in which case, I would recommend Dark City.

2. Irwin Mainway - Dan Akroyd now sells vodka, it you like SNL, it is probably because of John Belushi, in which case, I would recommend The Blues Brothers of Animal House.

3. Jim Cunningham - Only watch Donnie Darko after you have watched every single other Patrick Swayze movie.

Well, I... I don't agree with that, but Jolt Country is a place where all opinions and tastes are welcome! Plus, this is not the appropriate thread for me to discuss the movie in question, so I apologize for going off-topic.

I don't believe if would be going off topic since we are talking about fictional pitchpeople within the confines of the movie they reside in.

Well then, at the very least, if you like Requiem for one of its actresses, that actress is Ellen Burstyn.

If you want to argue that Ellen Burstyn was the highlight of the movie's acting, I will not argue with you. If you are arguing that sex appeal is not the most important quality in an actress, any red carpet will show you to be in the minority on that opinion.

Jennifer Connolly does not make the top 15 reasons I count Requiem as one of the, say, 15 best movies what I ever seen.

Is there anyway you could make a list of the 15 best movies you ever say?

Of course! In no particular order (except kind of the first five are definitely the top five, and #1 is definitely #1):

Magnolia
2001
Apocalypse Now
Fight Club
Jaws
Das Boot
Requiem for a Dream
Alien
Blade Runner
Leaving Las Vegas
A Serious Man
The Godfather
Saving Private Ryan
Zodiac
Fargo? Sure, let's say Fargo.

Off the top of my head, I am 90% confident on everything with some substitutions possible, with the exception of Josey Wales being my clear cut #1:

1. The Outlaw Josey Wales
2. Brazil
3. The Big Lebowski
4. Raiders of the Lost Ark
5. Blade Runner
6. Big Trouble in Little China
7. Dark City
8. Goodfellas
9. Die Hard
10. Vertigo
11. Top Gun
12. 2001 A Space Odyssey
13. Back to the Future
14. Predator
15. Return of the Jedi

I don't have a huge problem with any of those.

Also I bet I am the only person in the entire universe that feels A Serious Man is the Coen's best movie. However, as I tend to do, I agree with myself.

The closest I found was someone who said it was their most "profound" movie. Whatever that means.

I am a huge Coen Brothers fan, if the competition wasn't so fierce, I could have easily add:

Fargo, No Country for Old Men, and The Man Who Wasn't There.

To the list, and that is just to start off.
