Does everybody know that in Windows you can typically use either ctrl-alt-v (Excel) or ctrl-shift-v (everything else) to paste without formatting? Totally not being a smart ass here -- just making sure everybody knows that.

It's supposed to work similarly on a Mac, but it breaks pretty regularly.

But for me, the issue is unnecessarily having to press a third key to paste something. I've been pasting with Cntl-V for years. (This sounds like I am bragging.) I can't do a Cntl-Shift-V with one hand. They could have made Cntl-B be "paste with formatting" which would have been the best solution. So rather than me "adapting" and paste stuff with two hands... which only needs to be done with Sheets.... and OpenOffice, I just start looking for a new online spreadsheet. :(

(I might install some app that acts as a macro.)

Pinky on ctrl, ring on shift, forefinger on V. I mean, Ctrl-V is pinky on ctrl, forefinger on V, and your ring finger is already right on the shift key.

Anyway. Anyone notice Google's android search recently switched its initial recommendations from what I recently searched to "what's trending"? What shit is this? Now I have to type "w" to get access to my weekly "weather Pittsburg CA " search. Fuck you Google. Half of my searches are simple repetitive shit that I do because Google made it easier to search than to bookmark or remember. Now they're turning the screw to push me to other bullshit I don't want to look at. Is there a setting to change it I don't know or have the time to fuck with.

Same way I press ctrl+z.

If I try to press V with my thumb, the space bar gets pressed along with it. It is borderline impossible to NOT press space unless I use my index finger.

Okay, I do put the pinky on Cntl and forefinger on C and V. I don't know why I thought I used my goddamn thumb before. I've been on a keyboard for multiple hours for almost every day since I was 15 and I still didn't know how I actually pressed it until I did.

But it's still awkward as hell to try to hit SHIFT in all this.

On the keyboards I use, Shift is directly above Control which makes pressing it the easiest part of the whole operation. What kind of keyboard do you use where it tangles you all up?

Guys, I may not be posting much, or at all, here for the next few weeks. I tried pressing Ctrl-V with my thumb, and broke both my left hand and my keyboard.

I have a dasKeyboard at home. (And at work, I think, but at work it doesn't have the keys I like.)

It's using the pinky and ring finger at the same time that does it for me. Or doesn't do it for me, however that goes.
