Fightening cross-posting! ROCK ONNNN!

I am checking the game now; it's pretty cool, huh?

Also:

He does most of 'em, tho I wouldn't trust a guy who advertises REFUNDS so abundantly on his page. Still -- He is the only guy now not silently saying "Like New".

Or, if you decide to go the whole hog:

But, seriously, man; when we finally get broadband out here (Pencaitland), I fully intend to Voice-Communications-PSO it up. I take it you'll join me then? In, like 3 years, or whatever it'll be.

Also: I'd steer clear of those. Cool tho it is RY found some stuff, it's important these things are new, just so we know they will work online.

As for the Broadband Adaptor???

Turns out these things are selling for $100+, yeah. Sorry. Maybe this is out. I tell you what, tho, as I'm desperate to get you online and (assuming my cheque comes through) I'll be loaded in a sec, I'll put $30 towards it.

I should point out, because doubtless Phruitcake reads this thread, that a z5 is a Text Adventure filename. For use with one of the many different TA-Programs out there.

However, it is not Hugo, and therefore not worth Mentioning.

-Lex (Because this 'page is getting so long).

Right, and if you'll need an interpreter like the ones at http://ifarchive.plover.net/indexes/if- ... frotz.html if you want to just open the game up and remind yourself how much you have no interest in playing text games.

If you use Windows, I'd recommend David Kinder's Windows Frotz 2002, the best for both playing z-code games and not playing.

Thanks for setting back the Hugo language four years with one single sentence.

Here is some additional history about Death to My Enemies: when I decided to create this BBS, the only people that I felt would really visit were Roody, Greg, Lex, Gerrit and Ben. I either hadn't met the other guys yet or didn't know that they'd be around. You can start a BBS with six guys. But five? Five doesn't work for the Sinister Six of Marvel Comics fame, and it wouldn't work for a BBS launch.

I knew Roody due to writing a DTME on the Trotting Krips site. I may not have known him otherwise. So without DTME there's no Roody here, without Roody no BBS, without this BBS, well, you can draw your own conclusions on whether that would be for mankind's benefit or regret.

Of course, yes, this is my last hurrah with the Inform language, and after this, I'll stick with Hugo. For those of you that remember, 'Death To My Enemies' tied for 29th place out of 37 games in the '99 IF Competition. Interestingly enough, it tied with a game with an unwinnable game, and yet it STILL beat a certain game called 'Chicks Dig Jerks' which came in 31st place.

Of course, this meant that Robb got one of the Sierra-donated coffee mugs to the lowest seven rankings and I didn't, so of course, even though for all intents and purposes, it seems that I've befriended him since then, he is secretly my greatest enemy.

I didn't think I needed to point out how, of course, 'Chicks Dig Jerks' is the much better game and how it just shows how one shouldn't aim to please the IF community anyways because its opinions is not always representative of what is *good*.

I hate MMORPG's too... but I also realize that there are a lot of them coming out (or out now) that are a lot better than PSO. I've played the Xbox version (offline) for awhile and it was absolutely nothing special. I played all of the Phantasy Star games for Genesis and PSO just totally sucked in my book. It would be better with some people online but it's limited to 4 players, and there doesn't seem to be a whole hell of a lot you can do.
If mmorpg's are your thing, that star wars one is coming out, along with FFIX-2, (or whatever the online Final Fantasy is), and a bunch of other ones trying to cash in on the Evercrack fad. PSO is on the low end of the totem pole.. I don't know if you can even call it a MMORPG...

All I know about PSO is that my brother gave it a try before we bought a keyboard, and since he always goes by variations of the names 'Flash Gordon,' a Japanese or Korean girl started talking to him, saying 'flash gordon, like the movie? lol' and he tried to respond by slowly typing something with his controller but she left by the time he finished.

So I know going online involves meeting crazy leveled-up Asians, but that's it.

That should pretty much be all that's required to get jonsey onlnie, 'cept 4 the whole "No Landline" thing, and I think $80 is a little steep :((

Oh course that was me. Who else could find such a magnificent deal?

And no, I'm not playing Evercrack. I'm trading it for Xenosaga... hopefully I can stand the movies..

I think they are talking about the DC adapter I think.

I realize that. Still a killer deal on a PS2 network adaptor, though, considering most people don't even have them in stock.
