I liked it fine! It was fine. I just don't like this "best episode ever" slogan being thrown around like so many endless god damn quotes from the Wikipedia in pink.

That's all.

Can we save "best episode ever" for episodes that are at least better than the Season 4 finale or "Fly"? Can we agree to do that? This is the place that people come to when they want to know what to think about Breaking Bad. I don't like us leading them down a dark path.

Also now that Flack is gone, you and I have to be at each other's throats again, and I think this would be a fun way to kick that era off again.

Okay, maybe not the BEST EPISODE EVER. But then again, awfully good. Outrageously good? Outrageously good. Great.

The "BEST EPISODE EVA!!!1 tag is a bit annoying, since by definition there will be an episode that will come along and eclipse it... This happened with the first season of "Game of Thrones" and Breaking Bad; did the latter ever top the point of view shot of Walter and his accomplice cleaning up the slimy remains of the dead body that was dissolved in acid? Will the sheer horror of seeing the titular character that was carefully crafted and honed into a fan favorite over an entire season killed on screen, be topped any time soon in GoT?

Lets stop talking about "Best Of..." and instead speak of moments where the emotion, setting, and the perspective of the viewer is manipulated into seeing this spark of humanity and deeply carved picture of a story and those participating within it, where a connection is made.

Maybe? Guys?

BEST OF!!

Episode 3 remedied the issue of Walt being this insurmountable, overly cocky and cartoon like personality: they gave him opposing forces to counter and narrow his surety and with this perspective, has made it easier for the audience to see how this melding of his new found confidence and original personality, has actually made him nearly blind to his own hubris and the feelings of those around him.

At least those who are close but not quite close, as he chooses to be empathetic with Jesse as opposed to his wife but its nice to see his development put into perspective (as opposed to the first episode where it runs amok since he's made out as the central figure). By hinting at how his story progresses with the flashback in Episode 1 (and laying the groundwork for this throughout this particular episode), the writers have obviously found device, voice, momentum, and a framework to build up to the end of the show.

I don't know what time it is on in Colorado.

It's not that I can't stand commercials (though I can't), but I can not *stand* the same commercials over and over again.

I really just have it on and listen to the audio, flicking my eyes back to the video every few minutes.

That was an outstanding, A+ episode.

And the funny part was, over halfway through it I was like "huh, well, I guess they CAN'T all be winners."

They turned it around pretty well, but then I go on the internet to find everyone thought this was the best episode of the season.

I DISAGREE, but whatever. Next week is the EPIC EPISODE we've all been waiting for (just because in an Aaron Paul interview, he said he was just coming off filming Episode 5 and it was the biggest, most extravagant thing they've done yet. From the previews, looks like... TRAIN HEIST!!!)

Well, I think I've alienated or otherwise been banned from everywhere else on the internet where I can talk about this show, and here I gotta be careful because Flack's still watching it.

Anyone... anyone like that episode? I liked that episode. Season 5 has a very weird vibe to it. Like up until now the show was kind of fun and subject to flights of whimsy, but now it is barreling straightforward leading to episodes that are exhilarating but also remarkably unpleasant.

This is the ultimate arc of the show, though, I suppose. Everyone laughed and joked about how much fun it was seeing Walt turn into a bad guy, but now that he's an actual, truly bad guy, it's... it almost ain't so fun anymore.

Know what I mean?

The problem with Breaking Bad -- and there is a problem - is that I am not left with the desire to comment on it afterwards.

It was another rock-solid, A+ episode with tension and character development. It soooooooooo puts all other shows in the, what, last five years or so to shame.

How the fuck is Vince Gilligan going to top this? Is he EVEN going to work again afterwards? Flack, catch yo bad self up!!

If I was Vince I would drop the mic and leave a legend. I don't know where you go after this.
