The Butterball turkey turned out perfect as usual!

Image

I just rub softened butter all over it, add salt, pepper, poultry seasoning and rosemary to the outside. Then on the inside I throw in a few garlic cloves, onion, and apple slices. Throw it into a cooking bag and cook for 2 1/2 hours (16 pound turkey) and it comes out like this.

Today we ate the legs. I no longer eat the legs the day of cooking the turkey. Instead, days later I wrap them in foil and squirt them with a bit of liquid smoke and throw in the oven about 45 minutes on convection bake. Then I unwrap them and cook another 15 minutes on a cooking sheet to get the skin nice and crispy

Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving.

That was just an ordinary day, although we got jellied cranberry sauce and stuffing as part of lunch. It's today, specifically, that I'm more concerned about. (Hint, hint.)

Last time I had a Thanksgiving was in Germany around 97 or so. I had no clue what it was even about (still don't, now that I think about it,) but I remember eating till I almost puked. Too bad there's no Thanksgiving in Greece though.
