The show's not for a week or two. I'm sorta anticipating this is gonna be a very bad band. But I could be totally wrong. Anyways, to answer your question about what they sing, Jonesey, here's a list of songs of theirs available for download, from one of the links on their site:

I downloaded a couple of their songs. The recording quality is pretty ass, so I can't make out most of the lyrics. Musically, they're not horrible, kind of fun but nothing special.looper wrote:I'm sorta anticipating this is gonna be a very bad band.
I'd go see them if:
A. They were playing in the area on a night I had nothing else going on.
B. There wasn't an exorbitant entry fee.
C. There was relatively inexpensive beer present.
Given those caveats, and if you like that whole pop-punk thing (and don't mind songs entitled "Starfleet up my Butt"), you should be able to sit through a performance and more or less enjoy yourself.

Hmmm...probably. I dunno. I'm not much of an alcohol imbiber, so it doesn't really matter to me.C. There was relatively inexpensive beer present.
My girlfriend really digs these technically shitty bands, so long as they have some sort of audacious gross-out-ness going for them. Case in point: She laughed through the whole show of a band called the "Shitjackerz", which consisted of two guys wearing masks, one guy was the "guitarist", he just banged at the strings, and the other guy was the "lead vocalist". I think they also had a drum loop going or something. My girlfriend, my brother, myself and a friend were their entire audience. Here are some lyric fragments:
We're the Shitjackerz
not fudge packers
...
Rear-loadin' deep-throater
all the way from North Dakoter'
And the set list (yes, she grabbed the set list):
Purple Helmeted
Sprayin' My Load
Face the Pooper
Jackin' My Shit
Rear Loader
Hide the Hampster
I Will (Jack My Shit)
Tongue Dartin' Pooper Partin'
Ah, yes...
Oh, I will.Given those caveats, and if you like that whole pop-punk thing (and don't mind songs entitled "Starfleet up my Butt"), you should be able to sit through a performance and more or less enjoy yourself.

That reminds of how the TechTV gaming show "X-Play" had a band on the other day. They called themselves "Fourteen Year Old Girl" and did all videogame music. Not music from games, but music about games. It was even worse than you can possibly imagine. A tiny girl (who looked about 14) with all the emoting of a piece of dry bark was the main singer. Thank God for Tivo, we just flipped past most of it. Absolutely terrible.
On the Star Trek note, I'll assume that everyone's aware that a "Free Enterprise 2" is being done, with Shatner and Nimoy.
And, finally, on a final "bad but fun" note, if you ever get a chance to see Nerf Herder, check 'em out. The lead singer looks like Popeye and the band is a riot. I recently grabbed some more of their stuff off Kazaa and they've got some "interesting" Christmas music, like "Santa Has a Mullet" and "I've Got a Boner For Christmas"... you may have heard their song "Chewbacca" ("what a wookie!"), I think it may have been in Clerks? I don't remember for sure.
Anyways, I saw 'em live several years ago opening for Reel Big Fish at a tiny local bar. They came out and annoyed everyone with the "we're here to kick your ass" style of bravado, but eventually they won everyone over. FWIW, RBF really kicked ass on a small stage, better than they did at a later show I saw. I know RobB hates 'em, but they put on a great show.

I only disliked Reel Big Fish because they were consumed by lesbianism and, frankly, none of those guys are exactly Affleck-in-Chasing Amy when it comes to turning gay girls straight.
Oh, and that song about 'selling out' punched the fourth wall right in the gob. It was the ska equivalent of U2's "Pop" tour and came off about as well.
I can't believe Free Enterprise 2 got a green light. There were just so many things wrong with the first one. How hard up is Nimoy if he's thinking that FE2 was a good idea? I hope he's at least directing it. That would explain his involvement. (Question!! Did Nimoy ever direct a film that lost money? This would not appear to be the case based on the films that I can recall he directed.)
