Hey, can anyone identify this song?

http://www.joltcountry.com/downloads/acs-2.mid

It's a fugue that was in the original Adventure Construction Set game, and I am trying to learn its name so I can see if it was written hundreds of years ago or if it is an entirely new creation.

It reminds me of the music from 221 Baker Street, a game I played on the commodore 64. Other than that I've got nothing.

I pointed some of the ifMUD folks to this thread and most of them were sure that it was no composer they had ever heard and thought it was likely that it was written by some shmoe for the ACS.

They thought you should go search out some other Baroque period stuff just to be sure.

Thanks, Roody & Mudders.

In return, I give you the following: if you find yourself grabbing a bunch of Joplin MIDIs, like I have done over the last few days, you may find that you need to turn your volume up a bit when playing them in Winamp.

If you're like me, you may find that you have to turn your volume up quite a bit, as MIDIs play a little softer than rock.

IF THIS IS YOU... by all means, please clean out your playlist and leave only the MIDIs there. Three times I have gotten to the end of the Kismet Rag and practically blown my eardrums out when "TV Trays" by Death Cab comes on afterwards. Don't let that be you.
