Studio Radio Yota released this Chronograph (sic?) around 2007 and... The dial is interesting and gives a different look to the Chronographs that are usually sold in the 1970s' Rolex or Seiko styles. Beyond that the band is leather and took to conditioning and polishing quite well - it became pliable and able to "bend" without crackling.

Overall a bit of a "zany" yet still being a watch design from a deeply fascinating micro-brand that hasn't been around since the mid to late aughts.

BONUS

The case that came with the watch doubles as a transistor radio! Many small touches add up to a charming and interesting time piece.

Wait, the case is a radio? You can change stations on it and such?

Today's watch is the Timex T80 Space Invaders Edition!

I'm a bit conflicted when it comes to the pairing between the metal band and the watch face: someone else online posted theirs with a blue, black, and red nylon NATO strap that coordinated incredibly well. This is further exemplified by the fact the band is "thin" as opposed to the more... And this is an official watch term in the casual enthusiast world... Chonky kind that has a more discernible heft and feel to it.

HOWEVER! The top right button is dedicated to playing the beep, boop, beep, boop, CRASH! noise from the original Space Invaders cabinet. This watch is also a bit of a departure for me as I only own one other purely digital contraption (being the Casio World Time AW-Somethingsomething) although I've the Pac Man Casio Limited Edition on the way.

Arbitrary Scores That I'll Be Making Up As I Go Along:
1. Watch overall: 11/10 solely due to the face there is a dedicated "beep, boop" button.

2. Band: 4 / 10 due to preference. Works and feels fine though...

3. Watch face: solid 10 / 10. Integrates the entire Space Invaders motif absurdly well even if it may be out done by the Casio Pac-Man LE that'll be reviewed soon!

4. Watch Case: 6 / 10. Smaller case size that I had to adapt mentally to being able to wear without it looking "tiny." Polish job is a bit much with there being a lack of defined lines and more of that bulbous mirror finish.

I have a Samsung watch. It is impossible to find a nice face for it that shows the time, date, steps taken that day and heart rate. I don't know who has eyes that work with some of the watch faces I have been looking at.
