Damn, I'm really sorry to hear this. Rest in peace, Rae. We didn't get the chance to say goodbye to you, but I'm really glad you were able to spend some time with us last year.

She had a life riddled with tragedy, and her obituary stated that she had other kids as well who are still with us. They lost their mom. I feel awful about all of this. I will say that I am glad she does not have to live with the pain and the grief any longer of what Straw did.

So sad to hear this, I wish I could have been more helpful over the years.

On on some initial reflection, a few things to say. You guys met her before I did but 8 was legitimately impressed with her drive and intelligence despite her physical and emotional challenges. She along with Straw made one of the smartest and clever and personable little girls I've ever met, Noel. It's impressive how far she got with mathematics, I struggled with calculus (mostly because I didn't study or do much homework so she's better at being driven too. I really wish I had been able to be more help but she reached out in one of the darkest periods of starting my company.

I am glad to read that she has a granddaughter. Her interracial kids deserve a great life. I'll never have a grandchild so that had to be something for her to feel good about.

I also have a deep personal guilt I didn't do more to help Adam when I saw he was starting to spiral. When he had no more cop job prospects and was stealing cameras he was supposed to fix at Kodak I knew he wasn't doing well but we were never close in that way and my life was stressful. I take less responsibility than NYS Troopers should buy it pangs at me at times.

Sorry Sorry Rachel.

It is an impossibly sad story. I am glad she's been relieved of her suffering.

All I can say is I'm glad the money I sent her helped make her short life a little better. As I said earlier, I owed this woman nothing, but I gave her some money - which I did not make public until after she did so - because she is someone I knew, it was within my power to do so, and, I guess, made the world a little bit better place.
