I know there are a lot of people turned off by Lucas redoing Star Wars, mostly because we all know Han shot first and none of the other stuff added anything but texture. Poltergeist is kind of different, face-peeling guy could have been SO much better! And the....well, I'll call it the Hulk-on-a-horse scene, would be able to disturb the viewers, rather than make them sniggerat the cheese.

OK yeah now this one I can agree. I recall as a kid this scene really grossing me out and kind of freaking me out yet I would still grave Dorritos crumbs and BBQ chicken legs. As an adult re-watching it.. it's fairly silly looking.

The problem with Poltergeist is the writing. Many problems with the plot but what makes it unrewatchable is when Coach goes back to work as if nothing happened. Sliding chairs were the highlight.

Also, OMG I've ignored 3 entire bases for years.

I don't care for the movie.

Huh. Just looked up the remake on Wiki. Doesn't look terrible but I'd prefer the 1982 version with a much improved facerip scene and less hokey cgi during the big bedroom swirl part. I remember really being into it and those two moments dropping me back into a theater seat in Greece, NY.

Has anyone ever counted how many times the characters have called out "Carol Ann"? (no google)

I saw the remake recently and it's.. lame. Not horrible, but not really scary in any way either.

It was the clown in the rocking chair thad really did it for me. Soon as I seen that thing I knew, I knew it was going to be a baaaad clown..
